I'm currently using Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.1 and i must say it's a great (if not the best) AOSP ROM at the moment. It has all the standard features you would expect with a ROM, with almost no bugs.

I tried CM9, and it has a lot of cool features, such as holding the volume rocker key to change song (even with 3rd party players) or the status bar brightness control. But at the moment it is quite buggy.

OP: Different roms work differently for different people. Not all chips are made equal; heck, not all phones are made equal. ARHD - immensely popular but gives me the worst battery life of all. HNS 1.5 - declining into history, but I'm still sticking to it cause my phone stays cool as ice.

I personally dislike sense, cause I like Android the way Google meant for it to be. But, as always, to each his own.

Try all the roms! With Titanium backup, mybackup root, it can't be that hard.

Also, don't forget the usual stuff (suitable PD58IMG base, wiping dalvik, formatting all partitions [or not, if on opensensation], etc.)

I've only tried a couple so far. I started with ARHD and I really liked it at first, but found battery life not so good for me. It could've been the ROM/kernel combination I was using. I tried Sebastion and faux's kernels with it.

I'm currently running Elegancia 3.6.1 with Bricked .858 and it's working really well for me. Battery is good, performance is smoking, and the look is slick.

I want to play with some AOSP style ROMs, but that will have to wait for the weekend. Right now, I got a combo that works very well for me and I'm not going to screw with it during the work week.

Default It's fine to discuss preferences

I really do not get the whole anti-discuss your favorite ROM mindset that seems to be so pervasive around here. For what reason is it wrong for people to have preferences and share them with others? I find these threads extremely useful to when I'm looking for a ROM to flash.

I find it no different than any other product that exists in the world. I don't want to try every ROM out there anymore than I want to try every wine out there when deciding on a wine to purchase, or ride every single road bike out there when deciding on a new bike. I like to try those things that come recommended by people who have more time and knowledge in that area.

I do agree with the statement that if you're going to recommend one item over another, you should have solid reasons that you share to support your preferences. Otherwise, it's not very useful.

The only real issue is that different roms work better for different people, so the only real way to know is to try it out yourself. Also, it is rude to the developers whoop work hard on their roms just to get them overshadowed by ARHD because everybody tells people to flash that. Admittedly, it's a great rom, but there ARE other options...

Sent from outer space 3000 years in the future (with my now extremely outdated, but still freaking awesome, HTC Sensation Z710e)
Phone - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Rom- ParanoidAndroid
Kernel- Franco.Kernel
Headset- Bose IE2's

Tablet - Asus Nexus 7

Rom- CyanogenMod 10.1

I'm also on OrDroid, just too ofthen the updates are coming, but I flash new ones once a week, so make sure there are no problems.
I wonder why Mike1986 not making his Rom's with Sense 4?
