I never tried the script running on boot. I always used THIS one and it never failed me.

New test version 1.0.1s (works on memory patched ROMs)
- updated SIO scheduler
- touch wake fix (from Ezekeel)
- touch wake fix enable again when proximity off (now should work always)
- cpufreq upstream fix
- cpufreq fix when max 800MHz (thanks to Mialwe, thanks to DerTeufel who pointed this out)
- cpufreq driver max freq to 800MHz when screen off
- ondemand sampling rate to 20000
- ondemand io_busy back to 0

Why the change is ondemand sampling rate? Surely that would worsen battery life?

It was 10000. I think that maybe it was too aggressive and maybe unnecessary.
About battery life: we will check it and figure out.

Yes, install the CM7/CM9 version. You'll be good as long as you follow exactly what the tutorial says. I am and always were with AOKP since I first installed ICS on my phone. It's not as good as the flashable script but, from what I read on the thread, that script brings issues to some users so I never got to try it.
