Even if it isn't official...I'm sure we'll get a port.

I came from the DInc which came originally with Froyo. By the time I got my GNex I was already running ICS with hardware accel for a few months....

The only reason they made Honeycomb in the first place was just so they could get somewhat competitive in the tablet market because 2.3 or older on a tablet was just horrible.

I can also (almost) guarantee you that the Galaxy Nexus will see at least one major software update. I don't see hardware taking off more than it has the past couple years to the point that the GNex can't keep up for at least the next 18 months or so. But it's way to early to accurately speculate so I wouldn't even worry about it right now anyways.
i think hardware is different... the newest nexus the gallery is outdated as it is only duel core and not quad core like htc has. But i do wish that the nexus line would be the top of the top with experimental hardware such as the first phone with hexacore cpu, quad hd screen, 1tb of onboard storage (for games and movies) 32gb of ram and 64gb of rom and eye tracking for the security along with voice security to unlock and facial as well as both must match to unlock. also 3d heads up display...

.
There are not many mainstream devices running that hardware and you would like to see that in a phone? Those specs set you back a few thousand dollars in a PC so even if they squished half that in a phone it would be 1st Gen car phone size, probably $50k and you'd have to carry the battery on a dolly or segway.

bow chicka wow wow.

They already have such a device....its called a notebook/laptop/desktopcomputer...

You obviously don't have a clue about hardware...

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA, killing iPhones along the way

Samsung Galaxy Nexus ---> MinCo v4 with Franco M5+ XXLF1

HTC HD2 aka Leo (in desperate need of repair) ---> NDT MIUI 2.3.7 DEVELOPMENT stable 6.0

Nokia N95 8GB, backup phone, 5 years old, still going strong.

First off,
haven't you ever heard you can't believe everything you see on t.v. Well the same holds true for the internet. Google iPhone 5 rumors and look at all the photos of design ideas that "most people" believe, or at least want YOU to believe, that it will in fact be the next iPhone.
Second,
You're actually listening to a guy who calls himself Idk, aka, I don't know? I mean, that's a dead giveaway right there.

I'm sure some adventurous developer did try to port 3.0 to a phone but there is a reason it was unsucessful, IT WASN'T DESIGNED FOR PHONES!

+1 running Liquid's finest and haven't looked back since
If you say you have no regrets then you have lived a very boring life.

Sent using advanced electromagnetic neuro-transmissions inside radiowaves that are then transcribed onto digital codes which are read by your big dumb brain.

DONATE TO ME
there is no way google is going to go back to one OS for phones and another for tablets....just doesn't make sense.

and i have a very good feeling we will get JB, and at least, unofficially, KLP or whatever they call it.

Unfortunately for those on Verizon, with how long it's taken them to push out 4.0.4, I doubt we'll officially see many updates let alone the next Android OS
