"I don't think it's dead...there's a die-hard community around it" - HTC design guru Claude Zellweger on the death of physical keyboards

said today. I think it speaks for itself

Said it before, and I'll say it again. The Shift is not "Dead" till we say it is . From the Roms and Kernels I see around here, I think it's going to be quite some time before that happsns. Keep in mind the Shift is an extremely underrated device. It will easily hang with almost any device out there.

Thanks for the info. But I still believe that it's a bad move on they're part. I mean if you look at all the other manufacturers they all have at least one Physical keyboard device. There are, and always will be people who do not like the on-screen KB. Guess I better buy a backup Shift .

Well keyboard phones aren't dead. They will still make them just not as often. That's what I got from reading that article

Not HTC, but Sprint is rumored to be releasing a new slide out keyboard phone by LG. LG phones are hit and miss and the specs are a little weak for something not yet released, but it should run on LTE. It will have ICS though....only if the shift could run ICS ;)

Thanks for sharing that, it's good looking phone. It'd be perfect if it had HDMI or Displayport output capabilities though.
