Use Faux123's 023 kernels (not latest).

Can I confirm, are you on GT/GT+?

I'm using EE.

I love the smoothness of the ROM (hence the donation), but sometimes when I try to make a call the phone just freezes.

Checkout my guide a couple of pages back.

p.s. actually here it is -

[How To] Swap kernels / troubleshoot SOD issues on Neutrino
[/QUOTE]
Since I'm using EE, can I use the kernel for GT+?

never happened to me
did you do a clean installation? well not like it would matter package formats system by default
try wiping data maybe
i guess then you haven't changed the kernel yet so you're on EE kernel, then you can't undervolt so i have no idea:/:D
I didn't do a clean install. I'm waiting for CM9 to do that. I installed 2.7 over 2.6

Hey guys, i'm just wondering what radio everyone's using with this rom and you average speeds, up and down.

I haven't been able to find a good balance with radio and kernel.

My up and down speeds are that of Edge. Just very very slow speeds... =(

Thanks guys

battery life issues may be the battery's fault

this may be a dumb/obvious thing to say but i'm gonna leave this right here....

your battery life may not be your phone's fault. if your battery isn't holding as much charge as it used to, it's gonna get depleted fast. so before blaming the software, do yourself a favor and get a few more batteries off ebay (they are cheap as hell).

i was having battery trouble and despite calibrating this thing and trying to hunt down the problem, the truth is it wasnt holding charge. as soon as i used a new battery the difference was night and day - the new one lasted 2-3 times longer with no change to the software, and confirmed by going back and forth between the two batteries.

just something you might wanna think about :)

Can anyone tell us the difference between this Rom and Dark Side, link here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1222108?

I have DarkSide running on a family members phone and I would appreciate the feedback :D

Well the BIG difference this ROM doesnt have a webtop but u can use LS Mirroring so its not so bad. Other then that this ROM is blazing fast, awesome battery life, no unneeded apps from Moto or google and other bloatware.

I am having the exact same problem. Glad to know it isn't just me. Someone else posted that editing levels was working fine for them though.

so before blaming the software, do yourself a favor and get a few more batteries off ebay (they are cheap as hell).

You know... there's a reason those batteries are under, say, $10 ;) .

OEM batteries (original ones, such as those from Motorola itself - just pointing that out) are claimed to hold ~95% of the stated capacity, while 3rd party ones (cheap, 10x bigger batteries) hold up to 60% in some cases...

I had my own two experiences with such 3rd party batteries :) . 1900 mAh one couldn't charge my HTC Desire's 1400 mAh battery not even half; 2600 mAh one couldn't charge the same phone not even 60%...

Yeah, that was ME. That is no longer the case, though, I get a Force Close when trying to enter "Edit other levels", just like everyone else, now... It was working fine when I updated from V2.6 to V2.7 beta, though. Now, on a clean V2.7 GT+ install, it no longer works.

hellow dev...

update-cm-7-20120420-NIGHTLY-olympus-signed.zip is coming....
mod it...hehheheehe...

That'd be nice :) .

Nightlies are gonna start to come up faster, since Cyanogen purchased some pretty badass servers... It's on their blog.

Well... DarkSide seems to be a MotoBlur ROM, themed to the max. Have a look at the changelogs / what the devs say in the first 1-5 posts...

I can't really help you, since I'm not using the same branch of radios as you do. But I am having the same problem, with two radios : can't figure which is better... and can't get anyone else to tell me ! FFS !

does the twrp recovery work for you with 2.7?

Yes, it does. And by the way, TWRP has worked with ANY ROM I've tried to install so far. MIUIv4, two CM9 ROMs, Neutrino, NottachTrix...

The Recovery has NOTHING to do with the ROM. Everything that is CWM flashable can be flashed with TWRP (that includes Radios and Kernels) ;) .

Use Faux123's 023 kernels (not latest).

Why not the latest? I'm using the latest CM7 1.45 GHz from faux's thread and it works fine :-?

i only need it desperately because i just make amazing drawings sometimes, like a pikachu 2 days ago. piece of art:D i just want to show off with them.
anyway in the latest update the iphone users got save and share options, maybe we'll get it in the next update

Hopefully we'll get that update. :) But yeah, try screenshotEr's shake to shoot feature, I haven't tried it myself, but theoretically it should work.

If anyone here is playing Pocket Legends, Star Legends or Dark Legends, could you try this for me, PLEASE?

You know, when you're in-game, in a dungeon, or whatever it's called... Use the joystick to move around, and while you have your finger on the joystick, try touching one of the capacitive keys... Tell me what the outcome is, PLEASE.

If I hold my finger on the joystick (to move around) and I touch one of the capacitive keys, my character makes a sudden shift in that direction, for like half of an inch (like a glitch or something). The capacitive keys would, otherwise, vibrate, and when pressing the MENU button, the Menu of the game would pop up - that DOES happen, as long as I don't have another finger on the display, lol.

-----

This wasn't happening on V2.6... I just noticed it now :/

Nice work with those icons!

But... would you be kind enough to make a version with the icons slightly smaller, and WHITE? I mean... just like with Notorious's theme or xploited's... White when activated, gray when inactive... It's just too much blue, lol.

Also, the battery meter... In some other ROMs (especially Sense ones), when you're charging the phone, the battery icon charges all the way up until it fills, then displays the percentage for one second, then the charging animation resumes, and again, when it fills up, it displays the percentage for one second, and so on... Do you think this is doable? This is also for xploited. What do you think, guys?

You should also make the app with another name, so we could have both xploited's theme AND yours, installed :) .

Also, if you find yourself good with this stuff, make the clock centered.

I'm not pushing anything, just making some suggestions :D
Alright, I'm pushing things... :p

You're so pushy! ;)

I'm using EE.

I love the smoothness of the ROM (hence the donation), but sometimes when I try to make a call the phone just freezes.

That was a known issue in previous builds, the trick was to wait a couple seconds before putting the phone to your ear. Let me know. :)

afaik version (like EE GT GT+) only differs in kernel so you can swap as you like

You are correct, the only difference is kernel versions, unless you change things yourself prior to flashing like I do. :)

I was wondering does auto back light work correctly or it doesnt work because custom light Levels keep FCing. and if it does work how can i change the values manually if every time i click on Edit Levels it FC's? What program would i use and what values would i change and where are they located?

Auto backlighting kinda works, but the settings for "edit levels" fcing, is a known issue.

To be honest, I never get anything 3rd party, not unless I see at least 50 positive reviews, and even then I have to go through and look for negative reviews before I purchase, that way I know both the pros and the cons of whatever I'm looking at.

As far as the radios goes, I say just find the one that works best overall (wifi/2G/3G/GPS) and stick with that. :)

All I'm going to say is what I always say, stranger things have happened, if you run into problems flashing the ROM using TWRP, and reflashing with a clean flash doesn't work, try switching back to the romracer's recovery and see if that helps. Please, let's not get into an argument over recoveries again. I'm just giving a little tip. :)

024r2? I'm using that as well, no problems here. :)

btw, what's FFS?

Honestly, I have no clue, It may be a /syste/bin file, or even a /system/lib file... but don't quote me on that, it is merely speculation...

Hmm... Is it possible to dim / turn off the capacitive keys?! (speaking of backlighting  )

To be honest, I never get anything 3rd party, not unless I see at least 50 positive reviews, and even then I have to go through and look for negative reviews before I purchase, that way I know both the pros and the cons of whatever I'm looking at.

Problem is, some times, people write reviews stating that the product is AWESOME even though, say, they don't even know how much the battery should last (compared to the OEM one) Hence it's not always good to buy a product in function of the reviews... unless they're of quality (the reviews, I mean - oh, and the products, as well).

That time I bought an external battery charger of 1900 mAh... It charged my HTC Desire's (already used) battery of 1400 mAh (it was barely holding 1100 mAh) only half... So the mighty external battery wasn't 1900 mAh, but ~600, which is even les than 50% :) . Guess what? Everybody else liked their product : they were using it on phones such as Nokia 3310 (you get the point) :) .

As far as the radios goes, I say just find the one that works best overall (wifi/2G/3G/GPS) and stick with that.

Yeah... I know... But some times, some radios are reccomended because the RIL of a ROM/Android matches it and... oh well... Guesss I'll stick to 100.0R for a few days, and if something goes wrong, return to the older one.

All I'm going to say is what I always say, stranger things have happened, if you run into problems flashing the ROM using TWRP, and reflashing with a clean flash doesn't work, try switching back to the romracer's recovery and see if that helps. Mmmmkay. I'm on 024r2 as well, and I'm having no issues...

I believe there is,I'm just not sure where.

Yes, that is why I always look for the NEGATIVE reviews. Those are, for the most part, "professional" or at least knowledgeable reviews. :) If I see a review with the "scientific" facts to prove it, I will take those over anything else.

True on the rils part.

Well for f***s sake! Why do people have to shorten everything? ;)

Going into a movie, will be quiet for some time

I don't really know. That's what it was like on HTC Sense ROMs... I explained in the post... I have no example to show you, since no one videotaped their animation while charging, lol.

Or perhaps you could add a % number inside your animation while charging... It's good to know how much the battery has gone up while charging, and using the phone :D .

Well man, your explanation was more or less good. But I can't make one without seeing one . And I never owned an HTC phone either.

Maybe you know a specific HTC rom that uses these charging icons?

LeeDrOiD ROM... I just asked him and a bunch of other guys on Twitter, hope they can respond.

When I had the HTC EVO 3D and I had a ROM that was GORGEOUS, but didn't had % in the battery meter, I used the UOT Kitchen to make it right.
Go to the UOT Kitchen, then check "Use this mod" under "Battery", and scroll down a bit. Under "Charging animation" you will see three animations - the third one (Hybrid) depicts best the mod I was telling you about :) .

LordClockan told me to look for the honey icon in his IceColdSandwich AOKP ROM for the HTC Desire HD. It's a XML mod or something... Have a look here. Don't know if that helps... I hope so :/

Wrong battery percent in status bar icon

Here's proof of the asynchronous battery percent thing I was talking about earlier (if anyone noticed my post before this  ). Look at the status bar icon and at the lockscreen text.

When the lockscreen text says the battery is at X%, and the status bar icon shows Y%... the lockscreen is right. In Settings -> About, the same X% is shown (not Y%).

If I change the status bar battery icon to percentage, it is all good. So I take the icon is bugged...

-----

Happens as well at other battery levels - for example, it shows 55% on the lockscreen, and the status icon shows 60%...

    - Massive 54% cut in size
    CM7 + gapps = ~150mb uncompressed,
    Neutrino ROM = ~80mb uncompressed.

Results in a much snappier, unsluggish and fast experience.

    - Beautiful theme
Minimalistic styled theme, Slim Roboto fonts and bits of ICS, such as ICS animations, icons and ICS-styled settings..

    - MIUI camera
MUCH higher quality camera with touch to focus.

    - PNG Optimized/Zipaligned
Uses DarkyROM's fast zipalignment to increase RAM efficiency. All system .apk's are also PNG optimised to make .apks smaller.

    - Wi-Fi/3G tweaks
Tweaked net buffer size and added network init.d scripts for faster 3g/Wi-Fi.

    - Increased Dalvik cache to 160m
Increased efficiency with demanding apps and increases smoothness.

    - Reduced background processes
Removed CMstats as well as unnecessary Google bloatware to increase snappiness and battery life.

    - Android 4.0 ICS Fuju Tweaks
Results in ICS smoothness and responsiveness.

    - Touch response Tweaks
Better sensitivity, greater precision when typing and overall smoother scrolling and performance.

    - SD Card tweaks
Increases read/write speeds on microSD card.

    - Battery Tweaks
Adjusted and added build.prop and init.d lines to increase battery efficiency.

    - Enabled Stagefreight
    Faster video streaming.

    - V6 Supercharged
Tweak's OOM's, minfrees to improve RAM efficiency and make everything smoother.

    - FULL GPU rendering
Uses ONLY GPU to FULLY render the UI, making everything much more smooth and fluid.

    - Ext4 w/o journaling
Removes the journal from Ext4 which heavily increases I/O speeds and makes everything faster.

    - Kernel and Networking tweaks
Improves kernel efficiency as well as faster Wi-Fi and data. Also contributes to much better overall efficiency and smoothness

    - qHD Keyboard
Nice and large WP7 themed keyboard, made to fit qHD resolution.

    - I/O tweaks
Improves database efficiency, and makes everything fell fast and smooth.

    Please read before downloading

This is an enormously STRIPPED DOWN ROM. Many features YOU need may NOT be available in the base package. If there is any loss of functionality, you'll need to flash an ADDON by clicking the link below.

Before you download, ensure your contacts are saved onto your SD card or memory card. Contact/calender sync is not included natively, you must flash the 'Sync addon.'

This is a CM7 BASED ROM. So anything that doesn't work on CM7 like Webtop will NOT work on this ROM also. Please do not request non-CM7 features.
    Install Instructions:
**Firstly make sure you have the latest RomRacer's recovery!!**
Then choose to wipe using any one of the following two wiping methods:
    For clean wipe:
Moto-fastboot -w, erase system/boot/preinstall, then install from INTERNAL .ZIP!

    For easy wipe:
Go into recovery, and install from INTERNAL .ZIP!
Wiping data may not be necessary with every update, but it's best to flash clean. However, if you regularly flash the updates, you'll most likely need to wipe data at some stage anyway.
**DO NOT WIPE DATA AFTER INSTALLING!!!**
Make sure you flash the 'Lite gapps' in to get the barebone google apps.

Then, after booting, click on script manager, navigate to /system/etc and run NitroCharger.sh as ROOT and at BOOT!
It is also HIGHLY recommended to download the GPS Mod found in #2.
    Then you're done.

Q: Are you going to be working on CM9?
Yep, I'm working on it right now :)

Q: My phone doesn't boot with this ROM - it get's stuck on the dual-core screen :(
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ROMRACER'S RECOVERY!!!! CHANGE IT NOW!

Q: Why is performance settings in CMparts removed?
A lot of options in performance settings will conflict with the tweaks in this ROM. All the options in performance settings have been included in the ROM anyway, but have been optimised for the best settings. So don't worry about it. If you REALLY want to head over to performance settings, then long press on homescreen and select shortcut. Add CMparts>Performance Settings and you will gain access. But seriously, there's really no point.

Q: My phone shows that I have very low free RAM!
Here's a fat explanation on how the RAM works in Android.

Q: My phone can't scan files on my SDcard?
CM7 mounts the SDcard and internal memory opposite to Motorola. To switch back to 'stock style,' navigate to /settings/CMsettings/application > Check 'use internal storage' and reboot.

Q: Does this ROM support landscape mirroring?
    Yep.

Q: How do you get those cool 'ICS style' rings like in the screenshots?
Go to Settings/CMsettings/Lockscreen/Style options/Ring-Lock style and change to 'holo.'

Q: What does the BOOST script do?
It will 'defrag' databases, so make them smaller (faster to read, so apps will open faster) as well as freeing the caches. Do NOT run this script at boot!!!!! It is to be used if your phone starts to feel a big sluggish or laggy, then just run the script with SU and that's it.
