1.5.3.5

Profile creation and cloning now restricted to admins
Fixed many device-specific issues from logs
Fixed rare crash on profile switch
Fixed Superuser footprint issue on some ICS tablets
Lots of small issues on the new x86 and MIPS architectures fixed as well

1.5.3.6,

try the free version,
- create two profile, one admin and normal user,
- switch profile require machine reboot,

not an issue, but i try to understand how it works
just out of curiosity do you utilize the file permission system like in linux between profile?

if this info considered to be confidential, you dont need to answer it. .

cheers,

If you enable "fast switch" the pseudo-reboot will take no more than 10 seconds. Fast mode only works the second time you switch to or from a profile.

Finally got round to rooting my coffee table machine yesterday and went for HC and Switchme. So regards the flyer this is a noobs post. I don't use it so much compared to the family but having profiles for everyones a great plan and seemed well worth the 61p for the licensed version.

It's a pretty neat setup. Nothing horrible's occurred and its certainly stable for me - switching takes a little while due to the rebooting thing. Will try the fast switching and see if my house burns down!

Big thanks and will feed back.

Don't worry - fast switch will only screw with things like different UI languages in different profiles. Other than that its pretty harmless.

And if you like it, please rate it - that helps a lot. Thanks.

Will do. I do like it. It fills a big gap in Android capabilities for tablets where it's very likely there'll be multiple users.

Only things to mention I can think of are:

1) I seem to be entering passwords twice. Might be my setup - I've only had it installed a few hours.

2) Could it be possible for it to display anything other than black screen during fast switching? It'd be better to be told it's doing something - especially for 'other' users who don't loiter around xda.

3) What happens when/if I flash a new rom? Could it be possible to save off profiles if all this information is already bundled up?

Edit 4) Actually slightly annoying: On one profile bookmarks on desktop/bookmark widget do not work (screen just dims temporarily) when pressed with multiple browsers installed. Uninstall non-stock browsers then its ok. Other profiles OK with multiple browsers. Copied the profile and the copied profile was OK till I deleted the original...Arrggghhhh :)

But all minor really. Great idea all said.

Cheers!
