im using the official rom for defy + 2.3.6 ..
and every time i switch my phone off and turn it on ..
i find that all updates disappeared and my phone starts to download it agian !!
for example adobe flash 11 goes back to 10.2 every time i switch my phone off and many apps too !!
why this is happening to me ??

I have the same problem here with flash player update. I had to completely remove it, reboot my defy and install it again from the playstore. After that I made a backup with Titanium backup for just in case. Have no idea why's this happening.

I had a similar issue when I used the officially provided Froyo: not only updates, but some apps themselves disappeared after each reboot, besides other nasty bugs. Got rid of problems when I moved to Cyanogen Mod.

Use Titanium Backup, long press the newly updated adobe flash 11 and select integrated to rom. This will made the adobe flash as rom files and it will never get erased again after reboot.
