HOW TO TEST 911 FOR ME
I encourage everyone to test 911 with this ROM and let me know. It's a serious issue and we need to fix it.

  • Find your PSAP (Public Service Access Point) here.
  • Call the NON-EMERGENCY number
  • Schedule a test 911 call, then call at the time specified.
If the call succeeds: Ask them if they received your location.
If the call fails: DO NOT REBOOT! Plug your phone into your computer, open a terminal or command line, run this command:
Code:
adb root
adb shell dumpstate -o /sdcard/CM_dumpstate.txt
Wait a few seconds after the first command, if you get "device not found" while trying to run the second command, wait longer and try the second one again.

The second command will take a long time, do NOT cancel it.

Now copy CM_dumpstate.txt from your SD-card, and PM me it. DO NOT POST IT IN THIS TOPIC!

I found my PSAP, but I don't see any non-emergency number in there. How do I find that? For orange county, ca, all i see is local police number.

You could call them.

For me, I emailed the county sheriff communications supervisor, and they told me who handles the 911 testing, although I haven't tested 911 myself yet.

I.... have?

I just haven't been starting CM9 nightlies, but started one just now, and I'll try to do them till the automated nightlies for CM9 are up.

It was a reference to the kernel testing you were doing.

There are VM heap settings under performance.

Ah...

New kernel for GPS testing!
This is pretty much the last kernel but with a init.aries.gps.rc modification.
