Default Downgrade FLYER from Stock HC to Stock GB

I've searched and searched for a topic that would explain what to do.

In most of the guides, one of the major steps is "Get your RRU" - seriously? I click a link and there's 30 different RRU's (whatever those are)...

How is one to know which RRU is right??

I'm looking for a way to revert my stock HC flyer to a stock GB.....because I plan to use this flyer on a boat and gps MUST work 100% of the time.

Would any of you gracious fellows help me out? If the simple answer is to go buy blue tooth gps, I'll accept that too......just tell me which one works please!!

Thanks

Read this thread carefully (a few times, if need be).

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1307759

Get adb working on your system - everything you'll need is explained and provided in the above link. You'll be able to identify exactly which RUU (Rom Update Utility) that you'll need. All links and info are there.

See post #2 - To identify which RUU to use.

No sweat, be careful and ask questions if you need to... it's not as difficult as it might at first seem.

Hardest part of it all was finding the actual RUU file to download.

I just downgraded mine last night and every link I found to my RUU didn't work. Was about to give up when I got lucky and found a link near the last page of the ruu thread

Do you have the US wifi version? If so would you mind posting a link to the RUU that you used?

Thanks. I guess at this point the most simple answer is to buy an external bluetooth gps.

That's the easy way out...

The simplest thing to do is downgrade to GB. Read, think, get the proper drivers installed on your system, run the fastboot getvar cid command to be certain of the RUU you'll need. The process isn't as daunting as it seems.

I actually had the same idea, I bought a tomtom MKII bluetooth gps receiver on ebay for 15 bucks.

I have tried 4 devices, a flyer and view running GB my droid x2 and some tablet my sister has. I can pair it, use bluetooth gps apps that you need to use but cant get it to work as gps. Nav apps all say no gps signal.

Not sure why but I cant get it to work.

Default you need a provider to use external GPS unless the kernel has mods.

Do you have a Bluetooth GPS provider app installed?
