I have a problem with battery indicator after installing overcome 2.3.1. The battery is OK from 100% to 30%. After that, from 30%, it jumps to 3% and notify that tablet needs recharge. However, actually the battery still work well even 1%.

Please help me!!!

Hi guys. I finally decided to test also this rom after messing around with the ICS variants. The reason I gave up ICS is that there is no camera support yet and more than that there is an annoying bug with the compass being rotated 90 degrees. Well, if the camera is working fine on this rom, the compass rotation is still present. Is this something only I have or is common with 2.3.1? Is there any fix? Other than this issue, nothing negative came to my attention.

Hi,

I'm now on 2.3.1, but I think I liked 2.3.0 better. It seems that 2.3.1 has slightly worse battery life (I'm not sure if that's really true) and the Samsung browser is not really better than the stock one for me. Besides looking ugly, sometimes it doesn't seem to recognize it when I press a link which is very annoying.

@alterbridge86: Do you think it is possible to let the user decide which browser to use?

Thanks for all the effort btw, it's a cool ROM!

Regards,
labosch

I'm really confused..

Yesterday I bought a Galaxy Tab 8.9 and because the stock ROM sucks, I flashed the clockworkmod and after that the latest Overcome 2.3.1 ROM.

Now I read on another forum you first have to root your device by following these steps, secondly install clockworkmod and at last install a custom ROM.

I thought by installing this ROM the device would be rooted automatically?? I bought it new and I have root access:

When you install the Clockworkmod and the rom, then you are rooted.

No need to root before flashing Overcome rom, as it includes root.

Btw.
The firmware pre-installed by Samsung with android 3.1 sucks it's true, but if you update it to the latest official firmware (check sammobile.com) your tab will get a visible perf boost. Give it a try :)
