yes,because you need root privilege to transfer the modify SystemUI from the sd-card to Phone/system/app.

I have updated SystemUI.apk to include the swype to remove notification, its on the second post, the app is in beta, All based upon firmware 73. I need to know if everyone wants this included as part of a standard QuickPanel Mod. Also is it worth me building for CMW installs as it makes the process easier. However Need to know if people are runnig doomkernel.

Also still working on the 2g/3g data toggle, for this toggle to work, you will also need to replace the smecphone.apk. theres quite alot of work involved not to sure if people want this mod?

A cwm zip makes things much easier/ quicker, reboot, flash and install.

And the mods are working awesome mate, swipe notifications works very slick.

Small update

Had to redo all my work again as it was getting very messy in the coding. Anyway the upshot is got rid of some bugs.

Going to tidy up the main post page, from now on will release updates in zip file which you can install from doomkernel.

Things going to finish off are.

think im going to leave the 2g/3g data toggle.

Well for zip updates, I guess people modding their phones have a good chance to run a recovery (and for now that mostly means DoomKernel), when they're not trying custom kernels Additionally, it's easy to unzip the update file and get the apk/framework individual files

As for 2g/3g switch, I had toyed with it on my old phone and did not bring any interesting results (same battery usage or sometimes worse). The reboot to recovery sounds more interesting

If i switch between 2/3G i can see a different.

no, please don't kill it off ... I hope you do still work on 2g/3g data toggle
my area has weak 3g signal which contribute significantly to battery drain when sleep.

so it's super handy to have 2g/3g toggle ...
