Is there any reason to do this if you are up to date in play store?

Honestly, I can't think of one, I updated one of my phones and didn't update the other and I don't see a difference. It is extremely unlikely that it would do you any harm tho.

There isn't a reason to update. It's just updated apps.

Well good to have it downloaded and on hand if needed in the future. Thanks for the link!

Does the same thing as checking or unchecking Use Internal Storage, this was confirmed by codeworkx in the GT-I9100 thread.

Messing with the files could have unintended consequences, just using the checkbox ensures that everything mounts correctly.

Also this: http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.p...my_SD-Cards.21

You can switch the mountpoints at systemsettings->storage->storage configuration.
Switching to "use extended internal storage" has the following result:
/mnt/emmc = external sdcard
/mnt/sdcard = internal storage
"use extended internal storage" is the default setting!
Do a reboot after switching, otherwise the setting doesn't get applied!!!
