Well, some stuff doesn't install which causes the rest of the process to be basically useless.

I'm trying to install a custom rom on a new lg thrill but first i'm trying to update phone to v20p. I'm having trouble at the beginning of process and can't locate shttp3.exe file in the server folder.

I've downloaded the V20P_00.kdz file. I've downloaded the LG Flash Package and extracted the files from the LG Flash Package using 7zip like instructed. When I go to step 2 and go to drivers folder, I install the lgUnitedmobiledriver....exe with no problems. When I go to the server folder to launch shttp3.exe file there is no file. There are only the www.folder. Am I missing something? I've looked int he www.folder and can not find the shttp3.exe file.

Your antivirus probably deleted it.

Thanks. I've started the update using the LG tool. It seems like it is going OK. It is very easy. Download tool from LG. Put phone on usb debugging and mock locations and let her rip. Can't wait to flash.

Are you rooted?
If so, I'll need to make a new version.

Yes I am rooted. think maybe a driver issue are there special drivers that need to be installed to use recovery manager?
