I haven't noticed any significant improvement either. I got the update on Saturday night and noticed several times yesterday when pressing the power button my phone at first would display no network service

I installed the 4.04 OP a few weeks ago based on the instructions of this guide. Everything went well.

However, yesterday I got the 4.0.4 IMM76I OTA update, installed it and now the wi-fi doesn't turn on at all (and I can't turn it on). I don't know if it's connected with the update, but since yesterday the wi-fi function doesn't work. My phone is unlocked and rooted.

Anyone have experienced this or know how to fix it?

Thanks.

DONATE TO ME
Hi Guys,

I got this OTA last night running Stock IMM76D rooted, however the update wont install. It reboots to the Android with the spinning blue globe, the progress bar goes around half way then changes to the Dead Android with the red '!'

I've flashed Clockwork Recovery and tried installing the .zip way but it fails too giving an error with the build.prop file.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Paul

Oh so that's what it is.
Guess I have to wait until the devs include it in their work.
Good news though since Im losing signal pretty often.

Well, have you changed anything in your stock ROM? Fonts, density, etc.?

As of the time of writing this post, there has been no official statement from Google, but unofficial reports suggest that this update fixes signal issues experienced by many GSM Galaxy Nexi after the IMM76D 4.0.4 update.

The update seems to be minor. Download the OTA update zip here:
http://android.clients.google.com/pa...D.46cf01d3.zip

This update zip works ONLY ON STOCK IMM76D 4.0.4 ROM WITH STOCK KERNEL. That means, ALL files in your system and boot partitions should be unmodified (file additions are okay, like with the case of root). A custom radio and/or root is fine for this update, though. Instructions on how to flash the zip, are on efrant's awesome thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1419170

As of now, it's likely that the update is only for GSM Galaxy Nexus models running the Yakju build. Since the signal issue affected GSM models only, it's likely that the CDMA Galaxy Nexus won't get this update.

Time to start spamming the "Check Now" button even though I didn't have the issue in the first place!
I hate being on yakjuvw sometimes :/

You are seeing the android-dead-with-exclamation icon because you do not have the IMM76D recovery installed.

And for the upteenth time, locking/unlocking the bootloader has NO IMPACT WHATSOEVER on OTAs.

Yes it is the issue. You cannot install the update OTA with CWM -- you need to download it first (see update link in my signature), and then install it.

No OTA update that we've seen to date (since the Nexus One) has checked the recovery.

However, if you want the update to install OTA on a GNex, you need to have the latest stock recovery, not any stock recovery. Otherwise, CWM will flash it just fine, but not OTA.

That is because something on your device is not stock. What is the error and details?
