Backorder status because they don't have them in until tomorrow, then they ship out. Same issue I have. I called and they verified that was why it said back order status.

the price im seeing is $649.99 before tax. how did you get it for $617.49?

Actually it was $649 but they dropped off $32, I clicked through without even noticing why...O.o

Regarding the comparisons with AT&T's One X: you eventually pay more for the phone in the monthly bills. My 2¢.
