I have the old gapps and the nightly 21/04. May I just update to the new gapps and update to latest nightly with the same process (wipe cache + dalvik)? Thanks.
Yes...
Flash latest nightly and Gapps right after, wipe cache and dalvik, reboot.

if you fix samsungs broken audio hal or write an wrapper, then dsp manager will start working.
otherwise get used to it. that's the price you have to pay for using a samsung phone.
So in the meantime, why include DSP manager in the ROM?
It's just another battery-eating, running app... (unless it is necessary for something else)

I have sorted my woes. I had N.E.A.K installed in 1304, when I upgraded, as I said I wiped dalvik, didn't work. Full factory reset didn't work either, BUT I discovered it doesn't wipe the kernel. Full wipe and reflash of 2204 solved it. However flashing a custom kernel over 2204, breaks the wifi again. How strange.

We can't take it out just because it's not working on one device.
It's working on most of the other CM devices and i'm sure they'll cry on you if you take it out.
^^ this is my personal opinion and can't be taken as a official statement from the CyanogenMod team.
