I checked the settings on her phone in the section called Voice Input and Output Settings and I can see something called Voice Recognizer Settings which I do not see on the Sprint Updated 3 ROM. I am guessing this is why it isn't working - the function is not installed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I can't explain this. I am going to reflash and try to figure this out. Very strange indeed. I've been running this ROM all week with no issues and didn't even notice this until my friend brought it to my attention. I'll report back soon.

No idea . . . Let me check this first, before I reflash.

Thank you for the quick feedback on this issue everyone!

Captain_Throwback, thank you, your instructions worked. I installed both applications from the market and then rebooted and it is now working. Thank you so much.

I really like the Power Options Reboot Menu that lets you go right into recovery!

Question ext2 to ext3

Anyone besides me have trouble trying to format their SD card for aps2sd? Using AmonRa recovery . . No matter what I try, I keep getting the "oops" error . . . the partitioning seems to go ok, but when I try the ext2 to ext3 conversion, I get the error . . . I have ran my 32gb SD card thru windows7 error check/repair utility and it finds nothing wrong . . the error log keeps saying "no ext partition found" . . .

It will make a huge improvement. i use it and my OG sings like a champ.
Almost two weeks since my last post, and my phone is barely usable. It barely responds now. I typically have to wait a good 30 to 40 seconds to get it to even begin loading an app or switching screens

I installed NG Cache Cleaner, but it hasn't made any difference. As far as flashing a2sd, although I am still not understanding why I need to do this since Brad included it in his ROM, I am willing to try it.
But do I need to wipe my phone first?

Speaking of wiping, I plan on doing that again in a few days if I can't find some way to fix this issue.

The only thing I can think of is, maybe I installed some app that is slowing down my phone? If I re-flash, I'll try to be very careful to only re-add a few apps a day to narrow down which app could be doing this (assuming that's the issue).

The "ability" for aps2sd is built into the ROM, but you must still have SD card formated/partitioned for ext3 in order for the ROM to be able use the built in aps2sd . . . format/partition via AmonRa Recovery to prepare SD card for aps2sd . . .

Thanks. Yes, I understand that, and already did that.
But my question was not, "why do I need to partition my SD card", but rather, "Why are people saying we need to flash a2sd if that is already installed in this ROM?"

Does that not mean I would be installing a2sd twice???

Don't know why people are saying that . . . as you stated, the capability (script) is built into this ROM, so all one needs to do is use Recovery to format/partition SD card for ext3 and the ROM does the rest . . .
