about the n800 bootloader sert issue, if we change the device info, is there some copyright or other "useless" stuff in sert that we can use to swap characters from.
( i haven't looked in those certs)

Because if we swap only characters from inside the sert from place to another, the hash/crc stays same.


I did this on some pc-dos games like 20years ago when i cracked some stuff and didn't know how to disable crc chek

I've got NOKIA DLOAD on my Lumia 710.
As stated in the OP, I think it's possible to flash some ROM...

But I absolutely NEED to increase the font size of the contacts' numbers in the people hub. Will it be possible?

Please help. Got this is for mom and she can't read small font.

I have been attempting to get the USB Mass Storage (Qualcomm) bootloader mode with my Lumia 800 without luck.

I feel as though my situation may be a little bit different, because I am using a completely new, un-updated device. Here's the info from the Diagnostics app:

Firmware Rev: 1600.2475.7720.11414
Radio HW Rev: 8255
Radio SW Rev: 1.6.00.24
ROM Lang: 0809
ROM Vers: 7.0.7720.0
OEM Dev Name: RM-801 EU 222

Mobile Dev Name: Lumia 800
Device HW Rev: 112.1402.2.3
Bootloader Vers: 7.35.0.0
Chip SOC Vers: 0.74.2.1

I try all the different combinations, but they all lead to either a normal bootup, or my device being recognized as only a 'HID-Compliant Device' for about 10 seconds, and then it vibrates and reboots normally.

The hardware IDs in the Device Manager are:

HID\VID_045E&PID_041E&REV_0100
HID_DEVICE_UP:FF00_U:0001

I see no DLOAD anywhere, and Linux shows up as a Microsoft USB Device when it does the 10-second dark screen mode.

ur locked out.

i see HID-Compliant Device on a 12070 firmware, and wen i downgraded to 14112, i saw DLOAD.
