There is no way to go to a non-MTD ROM if you are using a MTD ROM on the device without restocking,

I have no desire to go to a non-MTD ROM
I just wish to go from my current 2012-04-24 MTD build (built just before your recent data / system partition changes), and the most up-to-date "nightly" build from CM9 (or sgt7) repository.
I was hoping that given that I am already on MTD, there would be a script procedure to update the partitions without having to restock to non-MTD (i.e. Gingerbread BML + CWM recovery to convert to ext4).
See my point?

Indeed.

Sure. Actually I use ADB and the command line for TAR'ing or DD'ing my data.

Right, I purchased Titanium Backup a long time ago, and used it a few times for full data restore in my Froyo/Gingerbread past

Ah, interesting! Thanks.

Right, I did notice this in the update script before I moved from BML (ext4) to MTD.
Thanks cdesai!!
