Default Will the Sony SmartWatch work with our phones being that they are Bluetooth 2.1+EDR

Im looking at getting a Sony SmartWatch

It's stated that it runs Bluetooth 3.0, will it work with our phones only having a bluetooth core of 2.1+EDR?

I'm not really into that introductory price, but if it does work, that's a pretty cool geeky watch! It's going to take a while for the masses to adjust.. lol.

I see this as a perfect gift for me, but a horrible purchase.

I don't have an Epic 4G, but an EVO 4G. Just received the smartwatch today, and my phone connects and works perfectly with it.

Wow! A Smartwatch huh? From what I've seen and heard, you'd be much better off spending 150 bux on a good bluetooth. I wish I had that much money to throw down the toilet. Although, I'd wipe my ass with the bills first. Just sayin'

I've had mine for a week now. Seemed to work pretty well w/ CleanGB v1.1.2. I switched to CM9 b3 this weekend, and it's not quite as happy. For some reason the watch keeps complaining about being disconnected from the phone, and doesn't reconnect unless I physically turn the display on.

Bluetooth 3.0 is backwards compatible, I have the original LiveView from Sony and even it seems to have more problems with ICS than GB. I would recommend those using the SmartWatch to stick with GB till Sony does something about the disconnecting issues, or take the watch back till they get stuff figured out and the price drops.

FYI,

CyanogenMod 10.1 Preview Build cm-10.1-20130215-EXPERIMENTAL-epicmtd works well with my Smartwatch! It's the first non-GB ROM for the Epic I've found that does.
