I honestly don't know, I never used another kernel but rom's default. But I think if said kernel is compatible with CyanogenMod latest nightly it will be compatible with this rom. You could try it.

I am starting to love it, only downside at my end is faster battery drain phone didn't enter deep sleep. Rebooted, lets see if there is improvement.
Anyways great work!

Same here..flashed FKv4 lets see...anyways @OP a suggestion can u make the label 'Notifications' to move little left so that the whole word get accumulated in the space without leaving 's' in bottom.& can the switches arranged according to preference?
Few things i noticed:
1.Some apps does not get installed like load runner,mx player codec..
2.Scrolling in settings is little slow or jerky.
3.Battery drain with default kernel.
4.Market FC's(may be only with me )

Report later if see something

Can it really be related to default kernel? Its Cyanogenmod's kernel.
Market works fine here.

Anyways after reboot, no more wakelocks!
