I use the screen only protector that Zagg makes. It's a little pricy, but well worth it.

I use XtremeGuard. It's cheap($1 on Amazon) and it looks pretty good if you install it right. As long as you're patient with the installation, you'll be very pleased.

I actually like the slight depth of the screen that Realook gives. It's sort of ranbow-y, but you can really see it. It just looks better, particularly in the sun.

I have tried re-applying the Realook. It doesn't work in a normal environment. The static after peeling it from the screen (for some reason the backing stuff isn't the same) picked up every micron of dust within 8 feet of where I was working, despite my penchant for air filters. I tried rinsing it, but as soon as it was dry enough to apply, I got dust. I would about kill for cleanroom rental in 10 minute increments (I also have some hard drive disks I'd like to re-house).
T-mobile S3, stock rooted
Galaxy Note GT-N7000 leaked stock JB, cleaned up
TPT 16gb stock rooted back from repair & working beautifully
Vibrant & still pretty happy with it with CM10.1 (Apr 15 nightly)

I've gone without a screen protector for a year now without any scratches whatsoever. I don't think you really need one. Just my $0.02

I think stylus use will reinvigorate screen protector sales. Writing on glass with my TPT n-trig stylus is nearly impossible. Near zero resistance on gorilla glass, and neither my DD nor I have enough self/motor control to adapt to that.

Yes, gorilla glass should be plenty. Thank you Corning (no kidding, they left the kitchen). A screen protector is more about look and feel and peace of mind. It might be the difference between a total separation of fibers (or whaever ) and not if the screen does, however unlikely, break. I'll still use a matte protector on my TPT, and a realook on my phone, if only because my DD once shattered an "unbreakable" Corningware plate.

Bought my Nexus One when it first came out. No screen protector, ever. Kept it my front pants/shorts pockets, along with keys and coins.

If there are scratches on the screen, I can't see them.

And for what it's worth, never bought a case for it either.

it's an awesome screen protector. It's a little sticky when you install it, but it feels exactly like the gorilla glass after a couple of minutes. i've had mine on for over a year. There's a bunch of scratches on the screen protector, but non on the actual screen.

DONATE TO ME
A screen protector can be very beneficial when put on correctly. If you ever plan to resell the vibrant, the screen being protected could give you a couple more bucks. Even if you don't sell it, you could eventually peel off the protector and the glass would still be brand spanking new.
