After having to flash kernels for about 3 weeks through fastboot I finally decided to get s-off and decided to do it your way.
To be honest this scares me to death almost everytime I do this to a phone, especially the "take the battery out"-part
To cut a long story short, it worked as intended

Thanks for this

haha yeah but at this point it's a 100% safe to take of the battery.
the hboot is flashed at the very beginning, the rest is not a big problem :)

Thanks for this. Worked perfect on my sons Evo (did get stuck at end though). Why is this not a sticky but the HTC method is? Surely this is better for anyone who as the correct cid and h-boot.

Glad that it worked for you

OK. I followed all three steps. When I go to boat loader now, it states the following:

***RELOCKED***
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.49.0007
eMMC-boot
Jul 12 2011, 15:29:51

Why does it state Relocked? And should not it be "SHIP S-OFF RL"?

Here is a tip;

My CID was not in the list (HTC__M27) so I changed my CID via

Code:
fastboot oem writecid htc__001

and it worked as intended.

I suppose as long as your device is unbranded and GSM this works if you edit the cid.

you can only change the cid with unlocked bootloader and basically it doesn't work that way because locking the bootloader doesn't work then.

Hello,

After replacing the screen, the device came back with the following:
**** LOCKED ****
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.49.0018
RADIO-10.14.9020.06_M
eMMC-boot
Oct 3 2011,15:03:01

After reading thousands of pages, I cannot find what (or from where) to start ?
All I want back is to be able to flash rom (Lee's, Turge's and others ICS) and most of all being able to Restore my Lee's nandbackup and Titanium backuped apps.

Thanks for your help and knowledge

start with step 1 on page 1 and post 1. That's always the point where to start.
Good thing is that you already have s-off but and you could flash everything but I recommend you to downgrade the hboot.

That is why I am a little bit lost (noob me).
I am still S-Off but when I try to restore using Titanium app is says (Root first)
Does this mean I have to display Unlocked instead od Locked ?
Or can I directly try to install revolutionary-0.4pre4.zip via which method ?

Sorry for being such in a maze !

How to know my CiD ?
Branded or Not ? I don t know also how to identify it ?

Land of the Z1/EVO3D/GTAB10.1(2)
fastboot oem getvar cid
if this command works for you, means u are OEM device, and not vodafone

or from android, download the app called "CID Getter" and it appears in RED on top after you launch the app

that way you can see your CID ^^

It means you need to root you're phone and if you haven't already, flash custom recovery. Start at post 1 and read everything. Don't attempt anything until you understand it or there is a chance you could brick your phone.
Been s-off already, I think you can already flash recovery and then root.

but it's better to downgrade as long as he can downgrade.
It's not real s-off now. That's the state what you get when you run a RUU. After that ruu you have to run fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 to get s-on back.

he should downgrade and run revolutionary just to be save...

yes my CID is HTC__001 if im not mistaken and i checked it within the android app, and from fastboot command

there you have the reason. when u changed ur CID you cannot proper lock the device. but you can take the rom.zip rename it to PG86IMG.zip and put it on sdcard. do step 2 (I guess you are rooted, so no need for step1) then don't do step3, manually lock your device and don't reboot. Directly choose "bootlaoder" it will now parse the PG86IMG.zip

this does not always work...

THIS DOES ONLY WORK ON GINGERBREAD AND ON A BOOTLOADER VERSION <=1.49.x18
Disclaimer: You do that because you want it. Noone forces you to do that. Problems always can be solved, I will help as much as I can.

    NEW
you can now watch a video where you see how to do it. But quality, sorry I have no good camera.

This will downgrade your hboot to 1.49.0007
If you is branded by any other carrier then vodafone, this won't work. (Unbranded Device's too)
Why is that so? Because it is not possible til now to debrand your device.
I have tried plenty things with some friends, sadly no luck at all.
CID changing does not work for branded devices, if there is not more than one RUU.

    Unbranded:
This Tool will work, if your device has one of the following CID's.
    Code:
    cidnum: HTC__001
    cidnum: HTC__032
    cidnum: HTC__A07
    cidnum: HTC__102
    cidnum: HTC__304
    cidnum: HTC__203
    cidnum: HTC__E11
    cidnum: HTC__N34
    cidnum: HTC__405
    cidnum: HTC__Y13
    cidnum: HTC__016
    cidnum: HTC__J15

    Vodafone Branded:
This Tool will work, if your device has one of the following CID's.
    Code:
    cidnum: VODAP001
    cidnum: VODAP102
    cidnum: VODAPE17
    cidnum: VODAP304
    <[B]New[/B]>
    cidnum: VODAP120
    cidnum: VODAP203

If your cid is not on the list, you cannot downgrade your device yet.

    How to:
    • Download this Tool for an unbranded device
    • Download this Tool for a vodafone branded device
    • Download this Tool for a vodafone branded device with CID VODAP120 OR VODAP203!
    • RUN Step1.exe
    • RUN Step2.exe
    • RUN Step3.exe

It might stuck at the very end of the procedure.

Don't worry, it's okay. Just remove battery and reboot.

Please, if you are experience problems, describe everything you have done and I will try to help.

Have fun and enjoy your freedom.

Always remember; you are a noob on xda :) I am also one, so does not one feel attacked.

Like I said I downloaded TWICE and step2.exe doesn't extract it says that that file is corrupted in both downloads. Took 4 hours to download twice. and the SAME file is corrupted.

The zip is alright. Your download just failed. You can download all the steps here

Ok I think I got it.

If follow this http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1248231 thread. to unlock bootloader and install a cmw

then flash the kernel image file of leedroid (boot.img from inside leedroid.zip) using "Fastboot flash boot boot.img" while still in fastboot mode

then enter recovery and flash the leedroid rom (the ledroid.zip)

then i should be able to boot and run your tool ? from leedroid home screen in charging mode , debug enabled/drivers installed

sorry, i just need someone who knows what they are doing to confirm.

    exactly this way men.

here is the mirror of the tool.......
    2
so, new evo 3d GSM unbranded, hboot 1.49.0018 - this will work ok right?

unlock with htcdev.com and then run the tools?

just taking ages to download -.-

take the minus mirror - should be faster.
no, you also need to be prerooted, flash a custom ROM after unlocking.
then you can run step1. No errors on step1? then run step2.
