OK, I rebooted and again remounted / without a change. Rebooted again and the sdcard partition didn't load. Rebooted one more time, then verified that the sdcard partition was available, then remounted, then booted webtop. That worked great. Got XFCE, VIM, and OpenOffice to install...however OpenOffice won't start and CLI reports: "terminate called after throwing an instance of com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException" I then tried to install libreoffice but couldn't find the repo for it. Any thoughts?

JKASS5 I downloaded two mbm files.

one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1500585

and the other from here: http://sandbox.mindcrime.net/?p=137

ok, fixed openoffice. cli commands to uninstall weren't actually uninstalling, but synaptic did the trick. Last question. Is there a version of chrome that can be installed or is it just chromium that will work?

the one you got form my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1500585 should work that was the one that was from this thread before megaupload went away.
I have never been able to get this one to work. http://sandbox.mindcrime.net/?p=137

is it possible to have the mount command run automatically? i am rooted with Safe Strap, so the rom i plan to use as my daily does not currently support webtop (ics hdmi port thing), so when i do want to use webtop i will reboot, but, i would really love to not have to run that command manually every time.

Search the app store for "scripter" or "startup scripts". It works much like terminal editor except that you will be running a ".sh" with the custom commands typed out to one or many different files.

i know this is kinda off topic, but i posted a thread asking what is webtop2sd and what does it do, and what is webuntu, i never got an answer. i tried google searching for ansers but all i find is how to install them. im guessing webuntu is ubuntu, running from an hdmi cord? would someone mind posting screenshots/ pictures please?
thank you.

webuntu is ubuntu, running from an osh partition within Android and yes through the HDMI port.
2sdcard is exactly what it implies. The app makes a Linux partition on your sdcard and for all intents and purposes moves the osh partition to the new linux partition on your sdcard. Thereby giving you more space to install Ubuntu software

tallnerd1985, if you still look at this thread, you might want to update the instructions for mbm to add an escape command from the /osh partition, as the reboot command does not work in there... goofed something up the first time, and ran "reboot" inside the osh partition, and just did it again, not sure about success yet, but did reboot in osh... got "command not found" or something similar.
