Installed the update yestyerday.
Reading the forum regarding ICS on here, I expected a lot from this update, but from where I'm standing, improvements are only marginal. I'm talking about speed, smoothness and things like that.
I also noticed that apps start up SLOWER than before, and I had several crashes yesterday, especially with media-applications (players, media server, tag editor).
Indexing of external SD-card is also much slower.
Internet browser seems improved though.

I will be testing some more tonight. Maybe I was just having a bad, incompatible moment myself...

I just got my A500 back from warranty repair, in which they reloaded 3.2.1 (Acer_A500_7.014.01_COM_GEN1). The system was telling me I was up to date.

I opened up the Play Store, and there is, among the updates, a manual one for the "ICONIA TAB Update Enhancement" (available here). Now, it's telling me a new update (Acer_A500_041.203.01_COM_GEN1) is available. Downloading now; I'll attempt to capture the ZIP.

Gen2 in NY and no update yet. Not sure why they're bothering with 4.0.3 when the xoom got 4.0.4 almost a month ago which includes many bug fixes.

Both the cynic and skeptic in me believes that lots of folks download the leak and then say "I got the OTA and it's the same build number as the leak!" I could be wrong. Some daisy chain of coincidences could allow for the leak to be the same as the OTA for some, I guess; but I remember though, that this happened with several of my phones right here on XDA. People would get the leak from XDA and then post on the forums that they got the official OTA update - then I'd get the OTA (as well as others) and it's different. What's the motivation? /shrug. I chalk it up to misery loving company. Or, as I mentioned it could very well be that the leak is pushed to some serial numbers while another is pushed to others for whatever the reason.

In the end I'll be waiting on the OTA, as I usually do. When I do get it I'll post a screeny. I am generally in the first batch to get these Acer updates and I haven't gotten it yet.

I know what you mean. I'm on GEN1 and also usually among the first to get the updates but right now still waiting on Acer to grace my tab with one. I'm in the UK and lots of folks seem to be getting theirs since yesterday.

Waiting patiently for the OTA to show up on Canada's east coast.

I just can't wait, and found this update package in A500 Development forum.

http://cdn.acer.futuredial.com/Acer_A500_7.014.14_041.203.01_COM_GEN1_1333444737199_8ec8b991.zip

It is official ICS update, at least it is from Acer update server. But after update, the version become WW instead of COM

Before: Acer_A500_7.014.14_COM_GEN1
After: Acer_AV041_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1

Edit:

The file name is Acer_A500_7.014.14_041.203.01_COM_GEN1_1333444737199_8ec8b991.zip.
So, in my opinion, it is for Acer_A500_7.014.14_COM_GEN1.

Edit2:

After using this update package, the A500 system is rootable using blackthund3r's one-click root tool.

The 6.0 version of this rooting tool also brings Acer Ring!!!

Big thanks to blackthund3r!!!

I can confirm this.
My iconia couldn't find the "Update Enhancement" on play store, but it's available as .apk on acers web site. I installed it and then the tab immediately found ICS update.

    Serious problems with ICS

My Gen1 is now updated in Spain. Be careful! I'm having serious problems with continuous reboot of the Iconia. I've detected the same case in another spanish user, with wifi disabled the iconia works fine, once enabled it starts to reboot like a batch process.

    Sorry for my english

Is this relevant to the A501? I have that and it says my device is up to date.
