Looking great, I skipped 2.4 but 2.5 looks like a must have

Considering N.E.A.K. just gave me black screen on boot, ill stick to Siyah.

I am sure others are having nice runs with it, but rather not mess with that for now.
Last time I changed the kernel I have a million complaints on something going wrong.

It's in the kitchen for easy access if anything...

I ran N.E.A.K. for a couple days and had a multitude of issues from soft reboots, to a SystemUI crash to random sluggishness. Most of the time it was fine and really ran fast as advertised but it just got too problematic for me. Went back to current Siyah build.

Shame, really liked the idea of N.E.A.K.
But every phone is different, luckily changing the kernel is easy.

Guys, does any one know how to set maximum number of recent apps to show or how to switch off recent apps.
It's really annoing for me when the phone remembers all my recent apps and I have to clean that list every time.

I'm not sure why everyone is having problems with NEAK, but make sure you install the Samsung with Mic Swap. I installed the AOSP version (maybe like you did?) and I got the exact same thing, a black screen on boot.

NEAK gives me really good battery life, so does entropy. But Siyah, not so much.



EDIT: Suggestion. I'm not exactly fond of the TV-out lock screen effect and I'm sure others aren't also. Maybe put the option to disable in the kitchen?

App is still in beta, so don't go crazy fast or it will crash.
Don't rotate the screen while downloading

1. Bootanimations, Batteries, Lockscreens, Notification Toggles.
Will be pushed to /system/ and will just require a quick reboot.

2. Some applications will push to /system/app but others will require recovery.

3. Prompt for recovery will automatically install in CWM. (Accept su)
Ignore the waiting for 20 sec mount in recovery.

4. Files will be downloaded to sdcard, if you prefer to push/flash/install yourself.

Okay now for my brain cramp question of the day.

I've seen some posting that restoring a nandroid from one kernel to another is bad.

Example, I have a nandroid backup with the NEAK Kernel. I also have a nandroid with the Siyah Kernel. I am running NEAK right now, if I tried to do a restore of the Siyah nandroid while running NEAK or the other way around, would this cause a problem?

I read in a different post that NEAK creates a completely different backup type and trying to restore that while running Siyah soft bricked some phones.

If so, I want to be sure to label my nandroids as to which Kernel was running.
