4) Stock automatically turns off wifi very quickly, if you use something that requires wifi, it can be turned on for a longer period of time (Wifi Manager seems to be the popular tool), it will affect battery life, but that's to be expected.
5) Not sure what you mean
6) I don't believe there is a microphone, definitely no external speaker, at best, VOIP -- but nothing has been done thus far

1) No comment, I don't deal with the root tools
2) Sounds like a return to stock question? - Yes you can
3) I think Wifi Tether works, unsure about Bluetooth
What I meant was there are plugins on android phone that send weather notifications to the mooactv. Would be neat if some custom plugins could send info like sports scores stock quotes, twitter updates etc. This way using stock device you could still get more functionality.

As for 6, What I meant was triggering g a call to a specific contact via the motoactv that would then call via your phone (So for example, you are walking with motoactv on with headphones and want to call someone. Instead of pulling out the phone, you launch a contacts app on the moto that then via the bluetooth connection initiates the call on the phone that you can talk via the headphones which do have a mic.

So, instead, I'll release...

MotoACTV Root Tool Version 1.1.5

-Updated Return to Stock to allow updating via motocast (Thanks to CEnnis91!)
-Slightly changed return to root function (removed boot image, flash this with flash boot option)
will this allow you to root and toggle between an android launcher and the moto stock ui?

You can already do that, just install a non-stock launcher and don't check the box that always uses it. It will ask you which one you want to load whenever you press the home button.

Since it seems the development community has matured (is maturing?) for this terrific device, I might be moving onto the root train (why not, I've been doing it all with each Android phone I've had).
I'm thinking of this mostly for the Spotify offline playlist access, since what I've been using for now (Zune Pass) will forever remain out of the Motoactv's reach, and I can only use the music I've used my monthly song credits for...

Question:
If I root, can I use and control Spotify playlists and continue to utilize the ACTV's launcher and fitness tracking? As in, can I stay in the exercise window, and use the music button to control playback? Currently, I love having what music I have on there on shuffle, and I just hit the Music hard button once to pause/play, and twice to skip to the next track. Alternatively, the Jaybird Freedom BT earphones can also skip to the next or previous track, and play/pause.
Can I continue to maintain that functionality (keeping my live exercise data on the screen the entire time) and control a Spotify playlist?

Thanks!

I'm not too down about it. That one is a hell of a lot bigger and uglier, has a weak 416mhz cpu, and a sketchy charging/syncing platform.

The motoactv actually passes as an everyday watch for me. I can't imagine rocking that thing at work or in a social setting..

If by chance this happens when you tap on a search box it's because the search function doesn't work in most software. If it happens in every instance you may have an issue with your keyboard, in which case I'd recommend installing a new one.

I was first thinking of using Home Switcher app to change launcher but I just realized that if setting Motoactv launcher as default this couldn't be used.

I have installed Button Savior so changing between launchers is working, but is there an app to switch launchers by using a gesture?

Currently I have assigned Camera -button to Zeam Launcher appliaction in Button Savior. Now I can switch between launchers quite easily:
-In Motoactv launcher I use Camera button in Button Savior to go back to Zeam launcher
-In Zeam launcher I'll press Start button to start Workout mode and it goes to Motoactv launcer

Jesus, seems like someone wearing a phone in the arm (like an armband) much bigger than acceptable in my opinion.... The MotoACTV is already big enough for a watch...this one is completely unusable for somebody who doesn't want to be noticed as a freak..Kkkkkkk
