Default Xoom hard to see in sunlight

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone uses or knows of a screen protector that helps to read the screen in sunny outdoor settings? My current screen protector is a Zagg that has a somewhat wrinkle finish and when outdoors I can hardly even see if the screen is on.
Thanks in advance guys !

To be perfectly honest why do you need a screen protector, the device has scratch resistant Gorilla glass that's shatter proof too. I would lose all screen protectors and enjoy the the screen and its gleam.

When I first purchased the Xoom I picked up a screen protector and never took it off. I realize now that I don't need it to protect the screen. I was just asking if there might be a protector that blocks some of the glare when outside.

just refer here if you ever wanna a deeper knowledge of the awesome screen

but reducing glare you can get some cases off ebay and amazon but to be honest the xoom's back light is not the most powered so having an anti glare layer really wont give you much advantage anyway, I have tried it myself as I thought the same.

The matte, anti-glare screen protectors don't last forever, but there are some available on Amazon that are reasonable. I was using one for many months but it just got to messed up with me taking the Xoom out of the keyboard case all the time...I just took it off and am enjoying the deep gleam of the naked screen, but yeah, glare and fingerprints galore.

Thanks for reply Okantomi. Looks like there are many to chose from. I will research a bit tomorrow on Amazon as I would really like to be able to use my Xoom outdoors. Who knows maybe I'll just have to stay in the shade. I'm done for tonight though.

I have a Belkin matte screen protector on mine, and it definitely makes the Xoom far more usable in sunlight. They are like $20 at Target for a 3-pack - I highly recommend them, and here is a tip for installation.

Clean the screen thoroughly first (obviously), get rid of any streaks. Then using a spray bottle, mist a little bit of water (with nothing else) onto the screen, and then apply the protector. This will let you position it, as these protectors are completely 1:1 same exact size and dimensions as the Xoom's display. Then, use the card that comes with it to remove any bubbles and excess water (keep a paper towel nearby for when the water comes out of the sides, but you really don't have anything to worry about). You will see some excess moisture under the screen for a little while (depending how good you swipe it out), but I assure you after a day or two max, it will disappear completely. Hope this helps.

There are a ton of options on Amazon. The one I chose is a matte, anti-glare finish from a website I found using google (link below). I like to use my Xoom by the pool, and this has helped a ton with glare from the sun. It's got a good feel/quality to it. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm curious about this too. The ZAGG screen protector I have now on my OG Xoom is very glarey and I would love to find something better.
