Default Wifi WPA2 AES

Hello,

I flashed this rom on my friends milestone. He has a Dlink DIR-655 Router, configured with WPA2 AES PSK. When trying to connect he gets the "famous" connects, disconnects, searching loop. He never had this problem with the stock firmware. (Side note, the WPA2 AES PSK Cisco wireless setup at the office works just fine)

After a lot of searching I am confused why he is having this problem. It looks as though this problem was resolved quite a while ago. I also flashed the very latest unofficial build of CM 7.2.0 RC1 recently posted but he is still having problems.

I haven't been able to troubleshoot the problem first hand but I have tried what is mentioned in the first post (rm -R /data/misc/wifi) hoping it would magically work.

If anyone has some suggestions for a fix I would be grateful. Different Kernel? Different build of this rom with different drivers? Different rom altogether(would prefer to avoid that)?

If I'm missing any details just let me know.

Thank you

DONATE TO ME
Finaly found some extra clues about the "simple state" my phone reverts to after a reboot.

It seems creating the Ext3 partition on my SD card was actually somewhat successful. After a reboot, the partition doesn't get mounted so only apps in /system are available. Previously, the launcher was in /data/apps so it wouldn't get loaded. Now I get a launcher but all other software is gone, not even SU is there.
Booting to OR and clearing caches helps, than it works perfectly. Until next reboot.

Extra problem for me is that booting to OR doesn't work when /system/etc/init.d/autoboot_or isn't deleted. so I was stuck in that state. Luckily, I got in through a little trick.

alicheusz: apps sharing a process have to use the same shared uid, hence the same set of permissions. Telephony apps need other permissions than system apps.
com.android.phone process is already shared by several apps, it's not only Phone app, but also Telephony provider, Sim Toolkit and also Toggle2G.

Google apps use their own shared uids. Uids are tied to signatures.
A change of uids and the corresponding signatures would break the functionality.
Signature mismatch would also cause failures when some of the gapps would be updated from market.

Try to set IP address in milestone manually.
AFAIK WiFi issues are somewhat connected to dhcp IP provisioning.

Unfortutely i had this problem too. Suddenly for the past month my wifi got fixed, but again some days ago the same problem came back...

Its either something faulty with the hardware of phone (i have my milestone for about 2.5 years. Or with the installation ofRoms, something got really screwed! :)

After a full 2 years of this phone, I am finally moving off to the HTC One X. A great thanks to kabaldan for his works for our Milestone, it really help to make the experience with the Milestone a less painful one.

Will be keeping the phone however as backup, a pretty durable phone still. Also i wish the community here well.
Current: HTC One X (Tegra 3) powered by InsertCoin 14.0.2
