It was probably the same thing my brother tripped on on his mt4g. The my account app updated and was now compatible with ics, so a message popped up on the screen. At a glance he thought he was getting ics update on his mt4g. So he went nuts for a sec, but then realized it was just for the app.

It was most likely the most recent update and she just now got it. For how long it took us to get gingerbread and how old the phone now is. I highly highly doubt T-Mobile will put ics on it.
