I had a launch day evo battery was good for a little over a year then it held a charge for about three texts, so I had a little different experience. I did use the phone constantly though lots of flashing stuff in the early days, or I just got a crappy one
Got my Evo in November 2010 and, knock on wood, my battery seems to be as healthy as it was then. Had it tested in a Sprint store a month ago and it tested fine.

Nice, my original evo sh!t the bed also, so looks like I just strike out on both accounts
Yeah, I'm with fingers on this one. I've had my OG EVO about 18 months now and the original battery started degrading. Bought a couple 1900mah batteries for 30 bucks and getting really good battery life again. Also, I wouldn't say phones are only good for about a year. I agree that in most all cases something better comes out and we all get the urge to "upgrade", but that doesn't mean the older phone is no good. That is ESPECIALLY true with the OG. It is so good that to this point there hasn't been a phone released that made me want to give it up. The LTEVO is the first phone that has even made me think about upgrading, but even then I'm inclined to stay with my OG (for a while at least). All that being said, I'm sure that at some point I may get the urge to upgrade.

The only main reason for me urging to upgrade is how great the Phone Screens are these days lol Such High Quality Screens.

I wasn't trying to say that the battery is bad or that the og evo is bad, just simply that the battery in the evolte being un-removable isn't that bad. I can deal with that, and do deal with it with my touch pad. I love my evo and want to keep it even after that dreadful day I decide to upgrade. And use my evo as a home phone. My upgrade doesn't arrive til October and I was thinking of doing the early upgrade and sacrifice my evo, but with this rom and what is to come with this rom, I think I can hold out on the upgrade and be able to keep my of evo even after I upgrade.
And for that I thank you tommy for the countless hours of your life, that you have invested into this rom, as well as all other developers (associated with this rom or not). If it wasn't for them I would still be on a basic flip-phone
