Yes, those instructions are for coming from a lower Android version because gingerbread bootloaders are needed, you already have them, so all you need to do is flash the ROM in recovery.
I maybe upgrading my phone in the near future and before making the leap I would like some suggestions so I can be sure that I get hardware that The Collective has developed on. My Mosaic experience has been so good that I want to make sure my potential new phone can receive the same love that my cappy has. I'm thinking of the GS II skyrocket or the Note. What do you think?[COLOR="Silver"]
I have to agree with Mortem... go with the Note. Never thought I'd use that stupid stylus as much as I actually do now.
Android Developers, need an OTA for your ROM? OTA-Admin.com
Samsung Galaxy Note (AT&T) * who knows, it's a different ROM every other day *
Samsung Infuse * Unofficial CM10 JellyBean *
Samsung Captivate * The Family Mosaic IX *
Hi, I've flashed Mosaic IX and I was coming from Illuminance 3. The battery life seems to be running off rather quickly though. I had forgotten to wipe data/factory reset so I was just wondering if that maybe a problem, or if it may be contributing to this battery life problem.
Also, is GO Launcher the only launcher that comes with Mosaic? I had assumed there would be a default AND Go Launcher.

Your phone needs to settle down after a flash, it can take a couple to a few full battery cycle before you get the best battery life outta it. Re-calibrating can also help.
As for the launcher, yes it is Go Launcher. You can easily change it tho if you don't like this one.
I installed this rom a few days ago from the discontinued cognition5. I LOVE it! Its fast, reliable.
I thought I needed a new battery by now with my old rom, but with this rom my phone will be up all day till night time and still have 30% left. On my old rom half a day would go and I would need a charge.
GPS is spot on, for once.
But I think the only thing I have issues with is when I open the internet browser. It will force close, but then I try again and it works with no issues.
One other issue is the speaker phone when on a phone call, its quieter than before (and I think even the handset volule is lower to) but the media sound is a little louder than before.
Dunno about the browser issue, I haven't heard any reports of a buggy browser, i personally have used dolphin browser forever no issues.
As for the call volume, it is going to be a of a lesser quality than a native captivate based ROM, because this is an I9000 firmware, this it uses an I9000 modem, which does not have audience chip support for noise cancellation.
The browser force closing could be from a bad restore. If it does it again, i'd suggest to delete your current one with tibu, extract the one from the rom (7zip or root explorer) and manually install it. If you plan on using a different browser like dolphin, then you can most likely ignore it or even freeze it.

Those are the 2 things that I see bothering me.
But hands down this rom is NiiIIIce.
A far as the browser issue, you could try just clearing the data/cache and see if that helps if you like the default one better.
I just flashed Mosaic 9 to my cappy and at first glance, it was GREAT! I did some tooling around right after flashing and while doing so I received a text. I responded, however the sent message failed to send. I reviewed all the settings and nothing seemed wrong. I did some research to see if anyone else had issues, but nothing. So I then decided, maybe some minor glitch was affecting the send and maybe a re-flash of the rom would fix it. No joy. I've also downloaded a secondary text app from marketplace, but that worked the same way. Allows receiving of texts, but no sending.
Can anyone relate to past/present issues like mine? any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
