[Q] Which hboot do I have? Need help identifying

Hi all, I was hoping someone with a little more knowledge than I could help me identify the current hboot on my phone. I'm not entirely new to the rom-flashing scene, but I still can't get my head around a few things.

I purchased my HTC Desire (AMOLED) second hand. At the time it had already been S-OFFed and rooted, and was running the RCMix S A2SD CM7 rom. The rom zip had been left on the card. Naturally being the "CM7" labelled version I assumed I have the CM7 hboot. A couple of days after receiving the phone I reflashed to the AceSMod007 v35 rom and have since upgraded through to v42 - using the CM7 labelled version once again.

The thing is, I don't understand the hboot numbers? They don't seem to match up, and I'm confused as to which version I'm running. Can someone explain which hboot I actually have? Here is a screen shot from recovery.

I can see the "CM7" at the top of the screen, but from searching this forum I thought 0.93 was a stock hboot version. What do I have? CM7r1 or a modified stock hboot?

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Is it even possible to (accidently) flash CM7-hboot roms onto a stock hboot? (Assuming there was still enough space)

P.P.S I'm also running CWM 5.0.2.0 if that helps at all.

Pink line tells you what hboot you have.
You have tye old CM7 hboot. Take note that its different from CM7r2 hboot which is the 2nd version of it. Check http://alpharev.nl for details.

Thanks. I thought so. So if I want to update to CM7r2, is there anywhere that I can still get a copy of my current hboot (the old CM7) as a backup? It doesn't seem to be listed any more on alpharev.

A link should be here if you do a search. If you cant find it, making a custom partition would be the way to go.

Once you update to the new alpharev r2 hboot, you can't go back to the old cm7 one.

hi bortak, i know you're the guru on all these things, but i'm pretty sure you can go from cm7r2 to cm7 hboot, as i have done it once before.

i just flashed the bravo_downgrade.img from alpharev beforehand. i assume this should work switching from any other hboot with downgrade protection e.g. from oxygenR2 to oxygen.

just an academic point really, 15MB of difference...

Yes it's possible to go back to old cm7 hboot or any other custom hboot, there is thalamus hboot patcher somewhere over the forums which let's you set partition sizes manually.

Downgrade flash then flash old Oxygen hboot worked for me too.

Thalamus tool is on his blog - do have it bookmarked on my pc, but only got phone on me now. Might be a link from the Oxygen forum, or dare I say (deep breath) a Google search will probably turn it up. Can post a link tomorrow if any use.

I'd also suggest compare the hex for hboot replicating an AlphaRev tab using the tool with an original AlphaRev hboot before flashing, just in case.
