The tegra2 chipset supports usb host mode, the question is can you build a kernel driver for the board so that it'll work. Could be possible if we had a way to run a custom kernel....

Here's something interesting:

Just the fact that it's MicroUSB doesn't eliminate the possibility of it supporting hosting. I'm hoping it's firmware, and will be fixed when ICS is released for us.

Yeah I realized that later. But I've read that we have an encrypted bootloader, so possibly no custom kernals. That's what weed need to enable the host function, right?

Nothing that I've found. ICS could enable this, but nothing definitive. My brothers xoom is the same basic specs and has enabled host mode on 3.2.1, but the xoom is also a pure Google device. Ours has small tweaks done by Acer, which so far are all for disabling stuff. Kinda sucks, but eventually well bust the walls down.

I contacted Acer support, although that folder to the USB port will not work as host. I think we need a suitable kernel and of course a powered hub
