I own both Nova Prime and Apex Pro. Features wise Apex. Support wise, Apex. Speed wise, both are equally fast however I found Nova just lacks features I want. I have no app drawer lag at all in either. Nova Prime is a joke too, not worth paying for Prime. I regret that purchase however Apex Pro was worth it and the dev responds to you unlike Nova. So overall Apex for sure is #1.

I'm currently running Apex (free) and I think it's great! I am experiencing very little lag on the newest version. Also, this launcher gives you the ability to change the icon of any app if you feel like it, which I love! Overall, I like Apex over Nova because the Nova launcher seems to me like it has too much going on, but Apex stays very simple, yet packed with features.

I see a couple of folks writing about app drawer lag with Apex -- I never noticed that...and just wound up trying it again a few times to see if I can notice any lag... I just don't see it (I'm using Apex Pro on OS 4.0.4, and used it on 4.0.2 for the past few weeks). Nova and Apex look awfully close...but when I downloaded and tried free Nova for comparison to Apex, it just didn't feel as good... maybe just subtle differences and I was already used to Apex...who knows. But so far, Apex Pro has been great. I suggest anyone not settled on a launcher take the time to try several -- quick and easy, definitely a personal preference and decision, and the option to choose is one of the things that make Android so great to use...

Nova Prime for me. Tried both for a significant amount of time and Nova just lags wayyyyyy less. You can easily tell by launching the app drawer or switching between pages.

Also, Nova just seems to have a little bit more polish. For example, when you swipe on a dock icon, it pops up a little to show that it was a swipe action. No such action exists in Apex (or at least the last time I used it).

You said Nova two times. I'm assuming you're comparing it to Apex?

Apex > Nova in my own opinion but this will just be a punch fest similar to ADW vs. LauncherPro. Still don't understand what "lag" you're talking about. Apex is smooth as butter

Yes, I was comparing it to Nova.

The lag is what I've described with opening the app drawer. When I tap on the app drawer icon, the "fly-in" was crazy laggy with Apex that I switched it to "fade-in" so it wouldn't look as bad (and fade-in lagged as well).

Also, sometimes when I transition the homescreens, it stutters a bit. Instead of dragging your finger all the way through to the next screen, try to lightly swipe it and let the next home screen "settle" in. Apex had stuttering when it was "settling" into the next page.

Both of these don't happen on Nova. Other than that, both launchers are pretty similar.

Haven't been laggy for me whatsoever, but I guess mileage does vary eh? Been running smooth as butter since day one.

No live wallpapers, latest AOKP, latest franco kernel (incl. nightly)
