First time I tried to post links to pictures the interface told me that I have to post at least 8 times before beeing allowed to post external links.
Anyway, I'm not at home today and don't have the pictures with me.

Warning : this mod is hazardous as there is no more space and in case of battery failure it may lead to the destruction of the phone.

A. Disassemble the EP500 battery (same way as Gx3)


B. Remove the original mini battery from its metallic frame and cut the 3 wires from their solder


C. Preparation of the EP500 battery

1. Remove the coating on those tracks
2. Cut the thermal protection and bent it so that it's become flat
3. Resolder the thermal protection
4. Tin the prepared tracks and positive pole of the battery
5. Solder the 3 wires of the battery connector
6 & 7. Insulate the whole BMS board (both sides) using tape
8. Cut a window in the tape to let the thermal protection be in contact with the body of the battery
9. Press the BMS against the battery


D. Insert the EP500 inside the metallic frame


E. Finished !

I think this is the best battery for the mini

hello, could you please provide us some feed back about how this battery behaves in the phone?

overheating? better/worst battery life? or any comments about?

Sorry for the late reply, I missed your post...

After 3 month of use I didn't notice any failure (overheating, reboots...).

The battery life is increased of course. Here is a screenshot I made some weeks after the "operation" (normal use, wifi and blutooth always on but not always connected (only @home & @work for wifi and in my car for BT), disabled data/3G when no need (use it maybe 10/15min per day for email checking or googling), few calls/sms per day.

I didn't properly understood the part of cutting the thermal protection ? could you please rephrase ? (even in french if you want ;) )

do you have a complete white box for mini ?
