Everything working! My baseband is BOLP5 and my kernel version is BOLPD, as is my build number. It's a Dutch T-mobile phone. Updated through KIES.
Please stay patient with me and ask me for elaboration when needed. I tend to be unclear due to personal reasons.

Exclamation Incorrect busybox

I'm afraid that attached busybox is not fully compatible with ICS. I've got following errors:
Code:
D/RootTools v1.7(17766): error stream: ls: /system/xbin/busybox: Value too large for defined data type
It looks like this issue: https://code.google.com/p/busybox-an...es/detail?id=1
AdAway is not working either giving this error:
Code:
D/RootTools v1.7(18803): error stream: cp: can't stat '/data/data/org.adaway/files/hosts': Value too large for defined data type
Busybox upgrade to 1.20.0 solved the problem.
Current: SGS GT-I9100
Previous: SGS GT-I9000

I tried it on my TF101 but the stock recovery doesnt really start there is some weird error. Will try further though. The files are not specially signed for the s2 or contain files that might brick other devices.

Is there any way to run script in verbose or debug mode, just to see where it stops?

Works mind-bendingly beautifully on I9100DXLP9.

Compared to other ways of rooting, this surely seems the simplest way of going about it.

Much appreciated!

Messing around all day trying to root ICS for Orange (Uk) XXLPB - tried everything and went through the hair pulling stage and into the giving up stage.

Then I found this thread - worked first time! Fully rooted! Brilliant!

Many, many thanks for this tutorial. I had just about given up.

tried this on my freshly upgraded to ics 9100t last night
it worked
then battery seemed to be discharging very very quickly
next thing i know the phone is dead ,, and i mean totally dead
no life, no boot, not a sign of anything
took battery out lots of times. tried different chargers. still dead
too it to service centre this morning.. hopefully they will not notice it was rooted as i guess they will need to get it to power on which will of fixed it before they can look
