Default [Q] Can't restore S2

I have been using custom roms for a while, know how to use Odin, have done it several times but now I'm stuck.

I can get into download mode, but whatever I try I can't get the phone to boot after I tried a new rom.

I have gone through the xda forums, can't find anything to help.

I had an ICS ROM (Andy ROM), rooted with CWM installed. I took a CWM backup before doing anything, then tried to apply a new update with CWM from a zip file, but it didn't work. Now I can't get back.

I have tried using Odin to apply various kernels and ROMS, but when the phone reboots it throws out lots of red lines saying it can't mount file systems . The same happens when I install a CF-root CWM kernel – lots of red lines (and it can't see my backup file).

I think I am getting lost with the file versions and order in which to apply them with Odin.

Any help appreciated.

If I have to give it back to Optus to sort, any idea how much they will charge?

These are some error messages:

I'm in ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.0.2

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log

When I try to restore:

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't mount /sdcard

etc

You need to ask this in the Q&A forum, ask a mod if they could move this thread for you.

Hi, try to flash stock rom containig 3 files and pit via Odin. Repartition will erase all you data in internal memory and user data and settings.
Note, make backup of your photos, videos and other backups of rom to your computer. Eject SD and SIM cards. Backup folder EFS with Root explorer too.

Default Thanks

Hopefully the mods will see this is a Q and move it.

I need a bit more info - which file to use, which order etc?

I've got a few zip and tar files, but I only use the PDA button in Odin. Where are the Phone and CSC files?

These are the files I've tried

CF-Root-SGS2_XW_CLK_KF3-v4.0-CWM4.tar
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_MOT_KG1-v4.1-CWM4.tar
CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG1-v4.1-CWM4.tar
CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5.tar
CWMrecovery.tar

GT-I9100_OPS_I9100XWKG1_I9100XXKF3_I9100OPSKG1.TAR
GT-I9100_XWKG1_insecure.zip
GT-I9100_XWKG2_insecure.tar
I9100XXKE4_Kernel.tar
T989UVKL1_HOME_SGH-T989user_CL799405_REV00.tar

T989UVKL1_HOME_SGH-T989user_CL799405_REV00.tar? Really? Why in the world did you try to flash something for an SGH-T989 to your I9100? Or do you actually have an SGH-T989, and not a GT-I9100?

If that was the first thing you flashed, could be why you are having issues.

And good lord, it looks like you are just choosing kernels at random. KF3 and KG1 are Gingerbread kernels, and LPQ is an ICS kernel. What are you doing?
I never wanted to have a signature, but it seems I must. Please do not PM me directly for technical support. I mean it! No exceptions! Thank you.

Hey, thanks for the criticism, really helpful.

I had gingerbread, then put an ICS rom on, these files are what I had in my directory so I thought I'd try what worked before.

So I'm a noob; help would be appreciated rather than snarky comments.

Directing someone who is apparently an I9100 user to use a guide titled "Repair your I9100G Samsung Galaxy S2 which has been flashed with wrong firmware" isn't going to help anyone.

So you DID flash that T989 file to your I9100?

If so, you probably made it worse... I don't know if that was a full firmware or a kernel... if it was a full firmware, it may have contained bootloaders. If so, you may have totally screwed the pooch.

Why do you even have that file?
