V7.1 will be an entire ROM or just a fix to apply under V7 ?
Enjoy !
Well I was going to do a hotfix but there is no point, extra work for me. You can just install 7.1 and do the "NON WIPE" option under Custom Install to keep all your data. The System partition needs to be re-formatted for best results because the Extended Settings are now separate again.
It's already finished but I need to get Maik or Matt online to actually upload it. Here is the updated changlog and FAQ for Matt to add to the first post when 7.1 link is available....

M&M MiUI v7.1 UPDATE
--------------------
- Aroma installer updated to 2.00 with new theme and bugfixes. Should help with a lot of problems!
- 3G+/HSPA values added to build.prop
- Please test 3G data connection and speeds, let us know if it's better or worse than v7
- Added some missing English translations for Contacts
- Removed Extended Settings integration as it was causing issues and many users don't like it
- Use the new Addon Manager ZIP to install or remove it from now on
- Default theme's lockscreen reverted to v6's one (better)
- Emoji fonts added
- Needs testing. Make sure you are using a messaging app (and cellular provider) that supports Emoji!
- Addon Manager for v7.1 used to add/remove Google Play Store Unlimited, BEATS+xLoud and Extended Settings
- If you have Extended Settings installed and do a data wipe, run the addon remover
- Renamed the default ringtone (naughty words!)
- Default date format changed from American crap to dd-MM-yyyy
- You can of course always change this in Settings, and Extended Settings even more
M&M MiUI v7.0
-------------
- Updated base to FXP116
- Removed ROM Toolbox Lite. It was causing issues with system partition (the ?????? folder).
- Updated MiUI Extended Settings to 2.3.30 APK's. Now integrated with ROM
- Updated default theme to a new ICS style and a new bootanimation
- Updated Aroma Installer theme - the touch buttons will now look darker when pressed for clearer usability
- Some more speed tweaks and bugfixes
- English translations added:
- AntiSpam.apk (Firewall) with additional error corrections by CosmicDan
- Monitor.apk (Monitor)
- Included themes
- Sidekick.apk (Recent / Task Switcher and Search)
- Added AppWidgetPicker.apk (groups widgets by app for third-party launchers)
- Added /system/xbin/rzscontrol for zRAM (CompCache) function to work (still disabled by default, see new
Performance setting to enable)
- Added CMParts.apk (hidden from Launcher and customized to suit M&M MIUI)
- Added "Performance" option under System Settings (between "Dock" and "About")
- Hidden nearly everything else from CMParts because they are dangerous
- GPS.conf file updated, reflecting original X10 configuration but with Google SUPL server. Nice and fast!
- If you don't get a lock in Google Maps within 15-30 seconds of fresh install (and much faster after this
first lock), your provider doesn't provide XTRA data. Use "Faster Fix" and "GPS Status" from Play Store.
- Added some new build.prop settings that should help with 3G(+) and A-GPS connections
- New Automatic HWLED Fix. Do NOT flash any of the old enable/disable ZIP's or you will ruin the ROM!
- You have to reboot once (1 more time after first boot) for the HWLED patch to be enabled
- Removed the option to turn on Automatic Brightness (after a reboot) because it does nothing for our X10's
hardware-tied ambient light sensor and changing them is dangerous due to the new Auto HW-LED Fix
- Removed TelocationProvider app and database, this eats network and cpu and is a data miner only useful for Emergency
services in PRC. It also made GPS more responsive in my own tests.
FAQ:
Quote:
[Q] My back button doesn't work! Sh!t is really freaking slow! This sucks! This ROM is bloated! I hate you! (so on speed related complaining)
[A] Let it settle for a bit! The device has to sort itself out and cache all the system apps. That's how we get such fast booting speed Or read on this FAQ for speed tips. Note that it can take up to TEN MINUTES for the ROM to settle in our tests, this is NORMAL. Be patient and please don't go around installing stuff or rebooting during this time! You should only need to reboot ONCE to enable the brightness and HW-LED fix, do it straight away then let it settle for 10 mins or so after the reboot.
[Q] Some of the text I can't see! It's white on a white background (or black on black)
[A] Sadly this is a problem with the App creator for not following Android design specifications. The only way to work around this is to run the App in compatibility mode (Check the option in Settings > Manage Applications)
[Q] I get stuck on the kernel boot screen (the white one)
[A] Please reflash the kCernel from the original thread with the NEWEST Flashtool (v0.7.1.0 or later). If this doesn't work, please format all the partitions (especially system, cache and data) and try installing the ROM again in FreeXperia Recovery (NOT Touch Recovery). If this still doesn't fix it, try booting without sdCard. If this works, the sdCard also needs formatting.
[Q] Adding a second Google account erases the first one
[A] This has been reported but we have not been able to fix this yet. Sorry! Please report it if fixed or still broken in latest version
[A2] A user has reported that this has been fixed in v7, please tell us if you can use two Gmail accounts both at the same time!
[Q] GPS still doesn't sync well
[A] First lock can take to 30-60 seconds, after that it should be OK. If not, verify that you have a valid data connection to get A-GPS information from your provider. If this still doesn't help, use "GPS Status" from the Market / Play Store to manually retrieve A-GPS Data. If it STILL doesn't help, change the NTP Server to something else (via MiUI "Location" settings) - your provider probably doesn't use the XTRA A-GPS technology and you have to use an old-school NTP server for your region/country.
[Q] I can't change Advanced brightness levels in Display!
[A] This is intentional because (1) They are useless for the X10 (the ambient light sensor is tied directly to hardware) and also (2) changing the values are dangerous to the new Automatic HW-LED Fix.
[Q] When I try to buy something from the Play Store, I get "An error occured. Please try again." or some other error
[A] Install the Google Play Store Unlimited addon from the Aroma installer to remove the country restrictions. Sorry, but it's the only way to work around this because the ROM is based on a German build. It also has self-updating of the Vending.apk disabled with newest method so it will stay unlimited
[Q] When I restore apps with Titanium Backup they do not work properly
[A] You need to change the Restore Mode from "Direct" to "Indirect". Restore the app again and it should work better. If it still doesnt work well, do a "Fix Permissions" from ROM Manager in the Market.
[Q] OMG WHERE ARE TEH LANGUAGE PACKZ!?!?
[A] Settings > System > Language and Input > Select Language. Please let us know of any incomplete languages... if they are not German or English languages you need, we will probably need your help with it... like a screenshot at least, get AndroSS from Market to take screenshots.
[Q] Something is in Chinese!
[A] Please show us with a screenshot, or tell us how to get there. We will fix it!
[Q] Scrolling is slow
[A] Go to Settings > System > Performance and enable "Use 16bit Transparency". Reboot. It should be good after that. Assuming you've let the ROM settle and load properly
[Q] Multitasking sucks! Fix it!
[A] This ROM is designed for FOREGROUND SPEED (i.e. Gaming and Media). The X10 only has 384MB of RAM and is two years old, you can't have everything! But try turning on compcache, in our tests it helps a lot with light multitasking. You might want to set the CPU max clock to 1036 (or higher at your own risk) and use governor smartassv2 (better ramping, slightly more battery drain) or even ScavagedZen (even better ramping and even more battery drain), it will eat a little more battery but make it faster - especially when compcache is enabled.
[Q] When I chose "Top bar" for battery type, it isn't there at all!
[A] This is a known bug with Extended Settings in all versions of MiUI. You just need to go into MiUI Settings, then disable battery indicator and re-enable it.
Known (possible) issues in 7.1:
Quote:
- The Extended Settings mod may be incomplete. If you have it installed and encounter any lags
or crashes, please try removing it. If removing it solves the problem you had, report it to us!
- Some apps such as CPU Spy are not designed well to Android specs and as such have hard to read
text (they are not theme-aware). Run these apps in Compatibility Mode until we find a solution.
Champ just finshed his great kCernel v5,and here is all three version with M&M's boot logo,as you can see in the preview
all credits to Champ, and you can get the orignal kernel in his thread: here is the link
you can also find the changelog in Champ's thread
Here is the file:
1.1036MHz version.
this one is the most stable one,if you have any wlod or reboot cause by OC,or you don't know what does OC means, please try to use this one,it 100% stable for every phone.
Don't try this one, this 1.3GHz frequency is only for EXTREME limit testing.
For some phone, this kernel maybe even not boot up at all.
This one have a good chance to harm your phone, which is not fixable.
Dan even don't want me put this one here but since Champ make it,I think there is reason this one being exist.
DAN , i sent you a Logcat for VPN Problem , check your Inbox , i hope it will be helpful .
I had a look at this, the problem is with the FXP Kernel. It's up to them to fix it I'm afraid. If you need native VPN connection (i.e. can't use an app) and can't change the VPN config to a more "compatible" socket type (you are using PPPoX) you will need to go to a stock-based ROM and stock-based kernel, at least until it's fixed by FXP. Which probably won't be any time soon.
EDIT: Try using FXP116 original kernel and not kCernel or any of DooM's kernels and make another logcat for me?
EDIT2: @ Maik and @ Champ, any idea on this? Traditionally we used tun.ko module but it's integrated into the kernel, Mao has an idea that kernels based on DooM's work are conflicting with Wifi modules. Worth investigating but I don't have a linux environment set up ATM.
Plz if it`s possible, put the most stable kernel in the first post...
and one suggestion...boot animation is very beautiful...if u can make a colorful one, too, that would be nice thanks
is there any different between the set CPU in performance and the one in NoFrills cpu application?because when i set max and min in the performance menu, there is no change in nofrills cpu app...

No-Frills is just to set your cpu frequency
but NOT show which frequency and governor you're using

Hi again DAN , i sent you the new Logcat with the orginal FXP kernel . i searched the play store for the third party Client for L2tp VPN but i couldn't find any . but i never change this perfect ROM just for VPN , it's not gonna happen
i suggest using the zimage from my thgo-kang kernel and the ramdisk from kcernel v5 and pack them to sin file and try and see if that "hybrid" kernel can help the TUN/VPN issue mentioned by Dan above ....
Dan
before releasing v7.1 .. another things need to be translated
the Note apk ,, it all on jap i dont know if replacing the apk will fix this ,, so tack a look
