Longer answer: This hack was broken well over a year ago. Making it work now is extremely difficult and probably not worth the effort, even if possible. However, if you really want to try, you'll need to meet all of the following conditions:
* Your phone is a gen1 WP7 (HD7, Surround, 7 Pro, Mozart, Quantum, Focus, Omnia 7, Venue Pro, and a few others, but *NOT* gen 1.5 phones like the Arrive)
* You have a very early stock ROM for your phone (build 7004 or 7008 are the only ones that are known to work).
* You are able to flash that stock ROM (this requires a flashing too that varies depending on the OS and a working flashing mode in the bootloader, or a Zune restore point for one of those builds).
* You are willing to hard-reset your phone, or at least revert it to the state of your 7004 or 7008 backup (if that's what you have; if you flash a stock ROM you'll lose all data).
* You've downloaded the ChevronWP7 Unlocker tool and its certificate (no idea where you can get working links to them; maybe somewhere in this thread but I haven't tried).
* You understand how to set the clocks back to make the expired certificate work.
* You don't mind either staying on pre-NoDo, or you have a way to re-dev-unlock as you upgrade (certainly Mango, and I think also NoDo, will reset your hacked dev-unlock).

If you have all that, go to town. Personally, I suspect that's not worth $99 of my time and effort, so I'd probably just get an AppHub account instead, which will give you the exact same level of unlock...

More to @lsguntu than to you @kms108, but a bit of both. This is *NOT* the right thread for almost anybody, even if they have a theoretically compatible phone. The number of hoops one must go through just to unlock in the first place, and then to keep the unlock while re-upgrading, is ridiculous.

The correct threads, really:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1538801 (List of unlocks by phone and level of unlock)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1407652 (WindowBreak project, the closest thing currently available to the "just unlock it all for free" of the original ChevronWP7 Unlocker tool
http://dreamspark.com or http://create.msdn.com for an AppHub account (DreamSpark is free but only for students).

I know it's a long process to unlock the phone, it was a few months back that I unlock a samsung focus from 7004 just to add asian language aside the default 5 european language then upgrading to mango just for a freiend, it took about over 1 1/2 hours.

And yes I do have all the roms, tools etc to perform the task.

I have done the developer unlock and am limited to 3 sideload apps. Also I'm unable to install anything else like apps and tweaks in bazaar because I'm not fully unlocked. Any ideas?

GoodDay, my phone recently re-locked for whatever reasons MS deemed fit to follow Apple's failed jailbreak approach. Until this morning, my phone was dev-unlocked using your xap [HTC Interop Unlock v2]. I even had ur oem Nokia trick working. This morning, I get the "app has been revoked by MS......". Not even Adv config works. Do you have any idea what trick I can use to reset this on the phone? since reg editor doesn't work and Adv confi closes as soon as I launch it [after the phone has relocked that is].

Thanks in advance.

Well, not this, for sure (not unless you want to roll back to 7008...)

If the "interop-unlock" entries are still in your Connection Setup list, you can use those again. If not, you'll need to dev-unlock the phone first so you can re-interop-unlock. Currently, we don't have a way to dev-unlock an HTC phone except by the official method (AppHub account).
