I didn't watch the whole video, but my browser performs just like the first part of the video, very smooth.
After reading your post, I watch the whole video again, and notice the part about www.nytimes.com, and then I try again in my HOX, to be honest, no problem at all, the browser displays the page very smooth and flawless. I can't see any problem navigating this page.
P.S. I'm using Dolphin HD, Apex launcher instead of Sense. I don't like stock browser because when I scroll down, It will lift up the menu at top and bottom, it is not as friendly and direct as Dolphin.
I just tape how I browse to the nytimes page, you can have a look. http://db.tt/60Am6mLl
As I hold my iPad2 with left hand to record it, I just look at the iPad screen to navigate, so my finger may not point/press accurately.
It is not 100% smooth, but shouldn't be unusuable?

Thanks for the video definitely helps seeing someone else's phone. Mine is worse than that, its constantly readjusting, white screen and very laggy. Only after you turn off javascript and flash that it becomes usable...
I am guessing this is only affecting some of us, hopefully htc fixes this soon.
If it is far from smooth, and iOS Safari is smooth? I wouldn't said HOX is 100% smooth, but at least it is about the same as IOS IMO (sorry I don't have a 4S) after testing at the same time same place same WIFI connection.
Safari also lag occasionally, and when you scroll, yes it moves smooth, but just with a blank screen, and then it display the content. It is just a trick I think.

Dolphin should be better, and memory should be a concerns.
I'm not using Sense, and disabled some Stock Apps to conserve memory.
For long term solution, root and using custom ROM is the way to go.

If we are already talking about that, I should mention that Safari on 4S has far better browsing experience than internet browser on HOX. Or just look how smooth is browsing on sgs3 with comparable hardware. Hell, even some older Android devices have better browsing experience.
All I am saying is there is a bunch of room for optimization and I hope they do that. For me personally I don't see internet browsing on HOX as enjoyable as it was on my previous device (4S).

I completely agree with that. The browser on the 4S was butter smooth, my S2 also had butter smooth web browsing. I hope HTC addresses this in the next update...

I don't agree with your statement after my testing, but I think that's enough.
LOL when I read this, but I think there must be some software or something else causing those issues for you guys.
For me browsing on stock browser is butter smooth and when I scroll down/up quickly, contents are always shown instantly, unlike some other browsers where you can see small delay and either black or white areas until page is redrawn.
Anyway, my 3 colleagues at work have iPhone (3G and 4). They don't upgrade phones often. But whenever I get a new one, we always compare my phone with theirs. They compare screen, browsing internet which includes comparing the same complicated website and looking at fonts crispness, colours, performance when scrolling and zooming. They play with UI and general features. If my phone was sluggish like on that youtube video, they would laugh at me. Instead, they complain about iPhones having too small screens and about things they can't do on them. One of them is selling iPhone4 and getting HTC One X.
So I feel sorry that some HTC One X users are having those issues. Don't know what to advise.
I'm running CoreDroid 2.1 ROM, but I understand that people shouldn't have to switch to custom ROMs to fully enjoy the phone like I do.

Hate to sound like a troll, but I had an evo shift, and an evo 3d and suffered browser lag as well. Unfortunately, sense is a hog and you will never see it's performance match a touchwiz ROM because touchwiz is so much less memory consuming. I have a galaxy s2 and can attest the speed between my evo 3d and this phone are night and day. you could have a million processors in the phone but at the end of the day sense is ruining your phones maximum potential.
IOS prioritises the GUI. It is smooth because when you pan all other activities in the os stop(loading page), correct me if I'm wrong. My HTC One X is as smooth as my galaxy s ii and galaxy nexus. I have removed the sense launch and some other apps with a bloatware remover script, some sense elements still exist though duh
I just installed the CM9 rom on the One X and the browser is super smooth, unfortunately CM9 cant be used as a daily driver because network data is extremely buggy. So it looks like its HTC's fault and they need to optimize it...
