UGHH! I wish it said in the OP to NOT use this unless you are a VZW subsciber!! I have a droid 2 on a 3rd party carrier (Mobi PCS), and this patch reverted my 3G data settings back to Verizon.

But not only that...i had made a nandroid before installing this, and sadly neither the unpatch, nor the nandroid reverted my phone back to the correct settings. As if that was not bad enough..I had QPST installed so I thought "oh well, I will just edit my M.IP and PPP -UM and AN settings back to mobipcs" -NOPE...Everytime the phone restarted the settings would revert.

When there is an unpatch utility..I would think this would *fully* undo the changes..sadly I was mistaken! And, i must say..i was shocked when the nandroid did not re-instate the correct 3G settings..and bewildered by QPST settings not sticking. I was left with no solution other than to SBF my phone and take it back to the Mobi store to pay them to flash the "proprietary" settings that I had personally/consciously backed up in case I had any issues...

This is not a hate letter..it is just a warning to anyone not on VZW..and a request for the OP to be altered. Aloha!

You're not serious are you?? You try a Droid 3 patch on a Droid 2 and then complain the OP didn't warn you? What, the fact that it says it is for Droid 3 isn't enough warning?

fixed links in op. btw yeah, these patch/unpatch files do exactly the same thing as the radiocomm procedure, which is to overwrite the verizon droid 3 tethered nai string, that's it.

Just a heads up, I just had to turn airplane mode on then off after rebooting. My wifi nor 3g was working but all is ok now
