that doesnt help, i know where to get the gapps, but the cwm recovery is for whats installed on the internal device (which currently i have nothing but a boot loop, because cm7 has no internal support for 8 gig models) so when im booted from the sd card cm7, and try to install, i cant, because anything done in the recovery is going to affect the device not the sd card.

EDIT: nvm, dunno how it happened, but i rebooted a couple times from sd card and it was there, now i just gotta restore the internal nonsense

In the future, you could simply move the apks for the desired Google apps you want to /system/apps.

I have tried this rom for some time. I still prefer a stock rooted rom w/ ADW launcher. The stock rooted rom is far more stable and works really really well. The only annoying things are that you cant customize the keyboard and you can't do a cut and paste and you can't set fixed IP addresses.

I do appreciate the efforts made by those who are working on the custom roms. I really wish i was knew enough to contribute more than just critiques.

You actually can modify keyboard when running stock rooted. There is a post from along time ago detailing how to do it. I will try to find when I get time. Or just search for it and you should be able to find it.

I agree. It's great that CelticWebSolutions was able to put this together for those interested, and on the recommendation of him and some others here I installed it internally. It's not been bad, but I definitely think the stock ROM rooted is much more stable, and there doesn't seem to be much more going on with development, so at this point I'm looking to re-install the stock ROM rooted.

No one should take this as a recommendation against installing CM7 especially on the SD card, but it's definitely a case of "your mileage may vary".

If you decide to restore to stock, I have found the solution:

Meghd00t has created a script file to UNBRICK the Nook Tablet and return to Stock. I used it to clear my previously bricked NT8 (would only boot to SDCard). It worked perfectly, UNBRICKED the device and restored it to full stock!

Then I put ICS on the internal and decided to try the script to return back to stock from a working ICS. It worked perfectly and it is compatible with either the 8GB or 16GB versions of the tablet.

Hey! I have a 8NT and I'm having a hard time getting CM7 to work. I've successfully restored the stock ROM and have applied to CM7 ROM, but on boot up, it shows the "Team-B Present" screen for about 2 second and then that screen just jumps up and down (looking very unhealthy). I can't figure out what step I've missed. All I'm left to do at the moment is restore the B&N stock.

Any suggestions?
