My phone is bulkier, I have to take off the case to get access to the battery and the case collects a ton of dust. How do you all survive with a case on your phone?

Reason for Case? = Protects it, and yields Better trade-in/buy back value.
Since I dropped a phone, like 4-5yrs ago, and had to go through the process of using the insurance and paying $50 bucks for that, I've never been without a case on my phones.
My last two phones were purchased at BestBuy, and I opted to pay for the 'buy back option', where they will buy your phone back at a certain percentage of the full retail price [cost of phone without a contract], if it's less than 2 years old. I just recently got the Epic 4G touch, and sold my Nexus S 4G back to BestBuy, to purchase this one. The day I bought the last phone, i had a case and a zagg shield on it before I left the store. So, since my phone was 11mos old when i got the Epic, they were going to give me %40 of $399, which was the retail price w/o contract when i purchased the phone. However, after pulling the case off to inspect the phone, they didn't find a single scuff/scratch/etc, and instead offered me %50. Normally they only offer %50 if the phone is less than 6mos old. However, thanks to my phone being in 'perfect' condition, I ended up getting $199.50 instead of just $159.60 toward a new phone. This literally paid for my new Epic, minus the taxes and other things that come along with renewing your contract. This alone makes a case worth it.
I change cases every now and then, and currently use the OtterBox Commuter case, and don't think it makes it too bulky, but provides excellent protection. However, it seems your more interested in less-bulk than overall protection level. I also purchased a Brushed Aluminium Barely There case, by CaseMate. It looks really snazzy, and it protected my phone really well after 2 different drops, from about waist level on concrete. No damage at all to phone. Plus, for you, this case and/or the Incipio Feather UltraLight case would add very minimal bulk to the phone overall. Between the two though, the casemate case is better, since it covers the corners.
