Well, there is a big difference between usable features and bug fixes. I don't see how we will get any new features without stepping up to the next version of Android.

Everyone release seems to have someone who has a problem. I highly recommend updating, especially since you are experiencing a bug in the stable release. The only bug I've heard about is the SOD, which I get around by keeping the services running and turning off wifi when not in use.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, "SOD" was the sort of issue that I cannot have, since then the alarm never sounds.

Frankly, I am more looking for someone who understands how CM7 got around the Device Identification issue and why that no longer works.

That's my point. It has nothing to do with the device identification, but the parameters of our device in the CM7 settings being compatible with the apps. I believe this issue was resolved in the nightlies, as I have not had it for quite some time. Hence my recommendation to get the bug fixes above the nightly.

You use the nook as an alarm? Interesting. I never considered that. Do you plug it in at night?

With wifi set to turn off when the screen goes off I had never had a single wake issue with the 7.2 RC1 MiRage builds from mrg666. YMMV though

From time to time, I've checked this thread, and each point when there was someone who said "no more SODs", there was always more than one person who popped with examples of the problem still existing.

The "parameters" must be referring to the 160/161 dpi issue.

However, in my case, I have apps which will no longer update, because they went from "compatible" to "not compatible" - despite no change in my installation other than Google apps updating - so it seems to be a change on the Google end.

BTW, by "alarm" I just mean notification sound, combined with a popup message, like "remember your doctor appointment is in 30 minutes".

(At this point, if I was going to do an update, I would go to CM9 ...)

Understood, but the wake issues are wifi related and not everyone has their CM7 set up the same with wifi turning off with screen off.

FWIW I haven't had wake issues with eyeballer's CM9 builds but it does lock up once or twice a day requiring a forced restart. In general I personally think the current CM7 builds are a more reliable choice

ADude, pm me a list of apps that are giving you troubles... perhaps I can find a "magic" fix for us with build.prop edits... who knows... maybe another DizzyDen program for editing device information... definately some updates to the IMEI Generator in the works.

Again, the main problem is that Google Play (aka Android Market) reports:

Quote:
This app is incompatible with your Bn NookColor.
and then the install is greyed out.

This also occurred with one currently installed app, where it decided that the update was "incompatible".

I see a number of threads in XDA on this, but in my case, I had not modified anything on my NookColor when it started happening, so it is undoubtedly due to a change by Google...

definately due to google play store changes.... is why I'm trying to make sure we come up with the correct long term fix for it...

Definately going to have to modify build.prop device information... I'm just trying to figure out what all we need modified.
