Default [Request][Port][ROM] Honeycomb 3.1 TouchwizUX?

I'm wanting to port Honeycomb 3.1 simply because of the whole Touchwiz UX UI... Would it be possible? And if so who's willing to help? And If it isn't is there a way I can port the TouchwizUX launcher to our devices running ics?

Well, I and bobrien made a port (not so good) of TouchWiz UX for the Amazon Kindle Fire here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1590246

It's kinda' laggy and only works with the DPI of 120(on the Kindle Fire), but it is working on CM9/ICS. Try if it works!

What version of Galaxy Player are you talking about? (4.0 or 5.0).
And about Honeycomb, well, there a problem with source code, Google did release the code for HoneyComb, but only when ICS had came out, so most devs skiped Honeycomb, like Cyanogen (no CM8) .

It's not impossible, but as long as ICS is still in work, I don't think HoneyComb will be on Galaxy Player!

Update: Not working with 190 DPI on Phone UI CM9/AOKP Rom, changing it to 120 or use the Tablet UI may work it out!

Try DPI 132 instead, it works on Motorola Xoom with this DPI, or look into the XML, maybe something it's in there telling you what's the condition for it to run.

There shouldn't be problem with JUST the launcher, but if you want the whole TouchWiz, you have to port the ROM then since TouchWiz runs on framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk.

Changing the device may do some harm to your device, so BACKUP before doing this, unfortunately I let my friend borrowed my Player, or I would have help!

The standard DPI on the AOKP Tablet UI Rom is 120
The right DPI for Tablet UI on GP 5.0 is 128 I believe.

Go into the AndroidManifest file in the apk, there should be a condition for it to run in that file, custom the Player to that condition and you're good to go!

Remember that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 wasn't shipped with TouchWiz UX at first, so there isn't any standard for TouchWiz.

I doubt I get it working but I'll try ...

I didn't see anything. What exactly am I looking for? Could you take a look at the files and point me to what I need to change? and when I tried to edit the file it wouldn't let me. I'm using root explorer. It allows me to extract the manifest file but I can't put it back in the original launcher file :/ help please.

Hey, just took another look at the xml files and it seems Galaxy Player CANNOT be compatible with TouchWiz UX using ANY Rom!

Why? It requires a xlarge screen, which we don't have, tablets (for real) like the Fire and the Xoom have an xlarge screen.

So it can't be running! UNLESS Somebody Port it to a medium-large screen (not really sure what we have, will take another look) OR Mod it to this screen (won't look real though)!
