Default Now Including Unlock feature!

Please let me know if this works for you. I've enabled unlock from ADB in this CASUAL version. It is experimental. If it works, I'll include a re-lock feature and add it to the first post.

Download GalaxyNexus CASUAL w/ Unlock feature

I went into the Nexus settings and searched for development mode and could not find it...What am I missing besides my brain? Thanks!
================================================== =============================
I found the answer I think... DUH! turn off phone, then hold volume key and power button together.

So I am guessing cause it is not explicit in the instructions ......

1. put phone in development mode (see above )
2. connect to computer via usb cable
3. Run the casual.jar file as per AdamOutler's instruction.

(Sometimes things are too obvious, that they get lost..... well at least for me!)

============ uh oh

I did the above and still link status shows disconnected..... do I need to initiate the fast boot or something else on my phone for the link to be established? I am terribly sorry that I am so needy, but As I said before....I am apparently missing quite a few brain cells. Thanks in advance for you r answers!

So i followed the instructions, ran the JAR and selected "install galaxy nexus CDMA recovery" since I have a CDMA nexus. It rebooted, and now just shows a fallen over android robot with a red exclamation point.

Phone is completely stock, never did anything with it.

How do I fix it?

Edit: As soon as I hit post it rebooted itself, then I installed root and tried again. That fixed it. To be clear, you must root before running the CWM install, its not done automatically.

That's the stock recovery just for reference.

This takes advantage a vulnerability that only exists in 4.0.2 and below. That vulnerability was "fixed" for 4.0.4. Somebody is going to find a new loophole to exploit for that to happen. The other methods don't take advantage of this particular exploit. You know there are other ways to root 4.0.4, right?

Well, to the best of my knowledge they all require an unlocked bootloader. Yet, unlocking your bootloader requires wiping.
Or do you know of any method that allows rooting with a locked bootloader on 4.0.4?

Nope, you have to wipe it as far as I know. You didn't say you were trying to avoid unlocking the boot loader in your original question hence my answer. Your justgoing to have to bite the bullet I think.
