Thanks for the reply!

I tried from a different PC disabling the Anti-Virus and it worked (I can't on my work PC).

Cheers.

Before that i flashed Doomkernel, which worked fine, but since then I can't seem to use Flashtool to flash ftf files anymore. I also tried reverting to stock kernel which didn't solve the problem either.

I got an unlocked bootloader and SG .73 firmware installed. Using Windows 7 x64, drivers are installed, fastboot is working fine.

Any solutions? Or is there any way to get a more detailed log for the error?
Is it normal for it too say it has connected in flashmode only after it aborted?
As the late great Colonel Sanders once said "I'm far too drunk to taste this chicken!"

I'm seeing an issue with Xperia S when using Vista but not on Windows 7.

Windows 7, connect with USB debugging turned on, connects fine and I get message saying it is connected with USB debugging turned on.

Windows Vista, connect with USB debugging turned on, connects internal storage to windows vista but get message saying it is connected with usb debugging turned off even though it is on.

I'm not sure why the problem

If I use the android sdk and run adb devices, it isn't in the list though but this is only happening on my Vista laptop? Anyone else got it working on Vista or faced similar issues and got around it?

Why are http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/ and http://androxyde.github.com/ different? I was a bit confused when i looked at the 2nd link when this topic was updated to 0.7.1.0 and the page only showed the 0.6.x.x version.

well I don't know why it wouldn't be but I think it is the issue but I'm unable to fix it. I have tried uninstalling everything in device manager and starting again.

I have an x8 and mini pro and arc that all connect fine. it is in device manager as Xperia S Under portable devices. I'll post tomorrow with more info if I have any

Sorry for quoting wrong post, I post again here:

Maybe helpful for debugging, on linux I get this message on the console:
