I think at around the 10 hours mark yesterday with keeping screen on all day 3G on and using it for things I wouldnt normally do it was down to about 25%. So I can see now why people arent happy when using it heavily, thats not a lot of use. But with that said it didnt jump down in huge chunks it was just a fast gradual drain.

After upgrading to 2.3.6 from 2.3.3 battery life seems a large jump up, in 10 hours its used 4% battery and the awake periods on the battery graph are tiny so the phone seems to go back to sleep much quicker.

Did you do that through Kies?

Edit- Actually you have to stop thinking about it as a phone and start thinking about it as a computer. 10 hours is great by any laptop standard.

Well, if you're gonna use it just for calls, make sure you do it on 2G which makes the battery last longer. You didn't read the phone spec sheet, did you?

Yeah, if you STAY on 2G, you'll get a better battery life than switching between 3G/2G. But oh well. Lol your phone.

It's a smartphone. Which is marketspeak for a computer with phone capabilities. The clue is in the fact that it has a CPU, GPU, RAM and an OS, all things a phone has no real need for in that form.
