Default [Q] optimizer???

so i have the phone asking me if i want to use the new optimizer to find the best network, how well does this work? can i turn it off if i dont like and does it eat battery?

Some like it. The People's ROM 2.2 has it. It is easily disabled in settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>automatic connections

It works really well, as long as you don't have a battery saver app like Juice Defender installed. They seem to compete with each other.

It basically works the same as JD's location service by comparing GPS data with tower data to determine if you should be on Wifi or 4G. It does scan these two radios, just not as frequently as if you left them both on all the time.

I climbed the 90!!

I really like it. If you know you aren't going to be near Wifi or 4G though you can deselect the buttons without completely disabling the Optimizer.
